  1. It won't get you any special treatment. I know as soon as I run you what your carry permit status is. If you want to support the range then put it on your car. Just don't do it to seek any special treatment.
  2. I am so sad to hear this. We had just recently messaged each other about some law-enforcement/Interdiction stuff. I'm sure he had a wealth of knowledge. I wish I had gotten to meet him. Godspeed brother.

I really appreciate all the responses to this thread. I am reading that many times the vets will rush you into surgery, when plain old time can heal the injury. The vets make a lot of money off of ortho surgeries. Putting her down is not an option for me. I could do it if she had cancer or some other disease that was incurable, but I think we can make it through this ligament problem. Belle is the white dog in my avatar, she is about twice that size now. We got her from a shelter. Pyrenees make awesome pets and guard-dogs. Once again, thanks, and keep the responses coming.

That sounds like a cheaper option!

I have called around to several places, prices seem to be in the 2-4 thousand range. I am waiting for some callbacks and I'm planning on checking with Miss. State Vet school tomorrow. Thanks for the responses.

She is 2 1/2 y/o. We got her from a rescue when she was 8 weeks old. We are thinking about talking to vet schools about the surgery. Yes, pet insurance sounds good right now!

My great pyrenees has a torn knee ligament. has anyone ever dealt with this before? My vet says surgery is the only option. The surgery is pretty expensive, 2-5 thousand. Any advice? Paul
  8. No, they will just discharge into his leg.
  9. They just missed some hugs growing up.
  10. That is awesome. I wonder if any of them have jobs?
  11. This is sad but true. I hope the culture is changing. In my department we are very strict about using alcohol and we know we won't have a badge anymore if we can't act responsibly. Sadly in a bigger dept I worked for being irresponsible with ETOH was taken very lightly and was very commonplace.
  12. Good post phantom, I was almost killed by a drunk driver in 2001 and my wife's grandparents were killed by a drunk driver on Easter Sunday while on the way to see her. Both of these events led to career choices for me. A drunk on the road is just as dangerous to my family as a man with a gun to their heads.
  13. I think firearms registry is one of the most common gun-myths around here.
  14. My department strongly suggests that all officers get a HCP.
  15. I would never ever let an argument happen while I am carrying. This looks bad, and guess who gets arrested when law enforcement is called because the person you cussed at felt threatened. Please keep your ego in check when you are carrying a weapon.
  16. I have many knives, but I usually reach for my SOGs first. I have the Pentagon Elite, the Flash 2, and the Seal Pup. SOG's customer service is great. The clip broke on my well used Pentagon elite and I called to see about getting it repaired. They said to send it in and they would take a look at it. Two or three weeks later I got a brand new knife in the mail. I can't say enough good things about SOG.
