  1. I wanted kydex b/c we have to wear nylon duty gear, and I think mixing leather and nylon screams "mall security." But Dave, I like people to point and laugh at me! Most of the guys I work with are getting away from wearing a full duty belt, b/c a lot of our stops involve narcotics and crawling around under vehicles.
  2. Words we should all live by.

    KIMBER Question

This is my experience and everyone else that I know says the same about their Kimbers. I'm glad I did not listen to the gun site commandos about the reliability of the Kimber. Mine is awesome!
  4. What was the tag number? I seriously doubt the authenticity of the badge. Mine stays out of sight unless it is pinned on my shirt. Sounds like childish behavior by both parties involved.
  5. U can still use 2 3/4 shells.
  6. Yep I am an EMT and a Trauma RN 3 days a week. I play Police on the others. Like traumaslave said, direct pressure is the best blood stopper. After that you can look at elevation and pressure points. Medicine in the field is mostly going to be based on keeping the person alive until they can get definitive care. CPR and first responder would be a good start. Then you can move on to the "alphabet soup" that trauma slave talked about:EMT,RN, PALS,ACLS, TNCC, CEN, CCRN, NRP, etc. The bad part then is keeping up with all the dang renewals! Some good ideas have been mentioned, like tampons. You need bandages, dressings, splinting supplies, a few OTC meds like motrin, benadryl, and that should about cover it.
  7. You have the right idea. Most kits are full of fluff that will never get used.
  8. I agree on the SOGs. I have 3 and they are great. When one of them had an issue, I was blown away by their awesome customer service. Not many companies will send you a brand new knife when you break a pocket clip while being too rough with it!

    Forum DT's

I was in a corner crying.
  10. They should have ID'd themselves sooner. They might not have realized you could not see their uniforms. Like others have posted, we do not have to have our lights on unless it is needed to get to a call, or we are on a traffic stop.
  11. I got a 642 2 weeks ago. I am loving it. I carry more now that I have it.
  12. Does ammo make a difference?
  13. I love my 35. I need to look into conversion barrels.
  14. One evening, two Alabama State Trooper patrol cars were in hot pursuit of a Chevy Camaro going east on I-20 toward Georgia. When the suspect crossed the Georgia line, the first Trooper pulled over quickly. The rookie Trooper pulled over right behind him and asked, "Hey Sarge, why did you stop?" The Sarge replied, "You stupid rookie! That guy’s in Georgia now. They’re an hour ahead of us, so we’ll never catch him."
  15. I heard he is an Arab.
  16. You need to open "Hero Gear West," somewhere near Memphis!
  17. Where did you take your class?
  18. Awesome
  19. Keep it that way and tell people it was modified by the ASP company for close up gunfights. I heard they were modding XDs instead of model 39s now.
  20. :rofl::rofl:

I bet it never gets robbed!
  22. Unless he is committed, I don't think it would be a problem. Everybody has hard times and can benefit from talking to someone. As far as the meds go, it is pretty common these days for people to be on them.
  23. Are you my wife?
