  1. Thanks :-) Haha! "Plant salsa" xD I mostly do the same thing. This all started because I love peppers and then I added more and more stuff. I'm shooting for the stars and trying a small watermelon variety this year, too. But, like with the zucchini, I just don't think I've given it the space it deserves/needs. We'll see what happens. :/ I like that raised setup! I'm fat and lazy, so that would really reduce my stress at harvest time!
  2. Before Willis ruined my life, it was a Kershaw Blur tanto serrated. Now it's the TGO TR4. I carried the Magic twice, but it's just too cool to put to hard use and scuff up. I still carry the Blur if I feel it may be a day where I might really abuse a knife or maybe lose it, like a boating trip or something. I just really love the size and feel of the TR4, and the strength/rigidity of the blade is just astounding. It impresses me anew every time I use it. I have all the TGO blades, and the TR4 is my favorite all-around so far. I'm tempted to get one of the new Kershaw autos or a Benchmade of some sort just kinda' because, but I really can't believe I would like them any more than the knives Willis forced me to buy. ;-)
  3. Thanks for sharing! I am in the exact same boat, just haven't bought the PC gun yet. I am a little different on the sights, as I don't like the red/green sights. That was the only thing holding me back. Now, Smith announces the PC Shield with night sights! Hot diggity! As for photos, try Photobucket.com for hosting. A little clunky, but it works.
  4. Ugh, I despise squirrels too, Omega! I've found a few a new home in my garbage can so far this year. :/ As for the hay bales, I'm glad to hear your friend has gotten good use out of them. I only plan on using them a season at a time. They'll make excellent cover for reseeding the lawn this fall after the growing season is over. If I see continued good results, I'll probably go for about 20 bales next year. And as you can see, I obviously need to space things out more! I honestly didn't expect such vigorous growth! I'm going to lose some pepper plants to the zucchini and squash this go around. :/
  5. Sorry, uploads on the phone are a pain the butt to post. I tried to get them in chronological order.
  6. I don't have much of a garden compared to most of you all, I'm sure. I'm in my 3rd year (I think) now. I started with containers only my first year, then some raised beds I built. This year I also added hay bales to the mix and they are working out well so far. If they last throughout the entire season, I'll definitely expand on this method next year. Just thought I'd share a couple pics of the progress this year: Starting out
  7. I'm starting to wonder if the new Ruger American pistol is prey to the same inconsistent trigger as the M&P line. I've read you and a couple others' poems about how fantabulous the trigger is, but the 9mm version I played with was simply unacceptable. Takeup, then what feels like should have been the break just leads to more movement, and then at some point it releases the striker. Absolutely no actual indication of when it will go off. And it didn't seem to happen in the same place every time, either. Again, maybe it's just the ONE I played with. Back to the Shield. I really do feel that the warranted trigger cricisms directed at the doublestack M&P family don't apply to the Shield line. As to the CZ75 point, completely agree. I happen to like the gussied up Tangfolio semi-customish stuff, but same idea. BigK and I had this discussion yesterday. The doublestack metal framed platform is a different animal to poly striker guns, and of different purpose. I will continue to buy and shoot both, for different reasons, but will never try to compare them to each other.
  8. We get it Steelharp, if it ain't some cheap Turkish gun, you don't want it!
  9. Lol! Kinda... I find myself in a terrible predicament. I was planning on selling one of my regular Shields to fund a PC Shield 9. I'm glad I haven't done it yet because they just came out with one with night sites. I think I'll probably jump on one of those soon, and then wait on the 45 until they give it the same PC treatment. Or maybe I'll keep both shield 9s and buy more, lol! We'll see...
  10. Friggin sweet! Any option for a DLC blade like previous knives? Can't help myself... love the look!
  11. Super happy to see this. Like anything, they'll surely sell at retail for awhile. Looks like a $30 premium over MSRP for the regular 9 and 40 Shields right now. Wonder what holster compatability will be for the 9/40 shields vs this one.
  12. Absolutely in love, and I've already cut a finger!
  13. Badassery is always an advantage. And I love those Kershaws. Willis, I'll hit you up for one eventually. :-) Right now I fall back to a Kershaw Blur when I don't wanna ness up the ProTechs. This will be a nice step up from the Blur, while not making me feel guilty for raping a ProTech. ;-)
  14. I just pee'd a little. That's beautiful!
  15. I don't think so, as Ruger always has to go and complicate things unnecessarily. Their gas block and pin method is definitely different. Do you have an AR556 with the front sight post? Just get a different gas block. ;-) Most folks generally go the route pf a flat top railed tigke anyways. Gitchoo a low profile gas block and slim rails.
  16. Very curious about this. I've made a few great rifles out of them, and have a few more waiting on later builds. All are 100% perfect so far, even the half-dozen "blems" I bought that are perfect. What is out of spec? Pin holes? Magwell issue? I'm interested to hear what's wrong, and what they do about it. :-)
  17. That's crazy stupid good! Hmmm.... tempted.
  18. I like 10MM (EAA Witness Elite Match) as well, but also M&Ps. I currently have a 40 Pro, 40 full size w a 9 mm barrel and a few 9mm mags, a 40 compact, and 2 9mm Shields. For that price, I say get the M&P. The grip angle is definitely different than any gen Glock, but it also comes with the 3 sizes of palm swell to help find a size that fits you. I like them all, and they have all been great performers for me.
  19. I do the same thing with M&Ps. I say keep it. Everybody needs a bathroom gun. Seriously. You just found yours.

    AR 15 Twist

The real question is... how did you get a burr in your flash-hole to start with?!

    What was the "fast car"?!
  22. Most full size indoor ranges I've been to are about 20-25 yards. One in Gallatin was more like 15 feet. I generally pistol shoot in the 7-15 yard range myself. I don't like shooting ARs any shorter than about 20 yards, and then it's mostly at soda cans or other reactive targets. I don't shoot paper with long guns until at least 50 yds.
  23. I bought a boatload of Perfecta in 9, 40, 224, and 308 back when it was dirt cheap. I've been through 4 or 5 cases all together, and have about as much left to use. All has gone boom, and surprisingly the 308 is very close to MOA in my M&P10. It probably DOES shoot MOA, but I'm not so good with the long guns yet. I'm shooting 2.5-3" 3 shot groups at 200 yds. 5 shots are generally inside of 3.5" at the same 200 yds.
