  1. I carry a .22 for limb clipping. At 5 bucks a pop, i ain't leaving rattletraps/rapalas hanging in the trees.
  2. Used to see jesse and his boys down in daytona at Finky's trading bike parts for cash to pay the lap dancers. Reckon he's come up in the world.
  3. I can't figure out how to download the images, but mine are:  C Co. 101st Avn Bn (Wings of the Eagle), and 48Th Avn. Co. (Blue Stars)
  4. The old adage that 'a 9mm might expand, but a .45 won't shrink' not withstanding, there's just something comforting about about 230 gr. round ball. Makes me warm inside.
  5. Perry and Giles have always been two  of the big deer areas. Hard to get access to a place to hunt, though. Ft Campbell  grows big deer, if you want to jump through the hoops to get a draw.
  6. Hard to believe there wasn't alcohol involved.
  7. If you're going to go into the thug business, you have to realize it has some hazards. Quit yer whining.
  8. I'm in the .308 crowd. If I'm short of time and have to grab a stand and hit the woods after work, I know my 788 in .308 will reach from right here to out yonder. If i have time and opportunity, I like to go old school with a savage 99, tang peep rear, and .300 savage. No good for the low light, long (150 yd max.) shot, but puts a smile on your face just sitting in the woods with it.
  9. I'm a slut. Whoevers cheaper gets my attention.
  10. another problem with the shorts is they don't shoot to same point of aim as the LR's, at least not in my gun. nice quiet little squirrel popper if you take the time to sight it in, though.
  11. My remington 550-1 will shoot short, longs, and long rifle. Only problem with the shorts is they foul the chamber and make the long rifles not want to fully chamber. Little work with a bore brush and your back in business.
  12. I had bad luck with this stuff; ftf, fte, ripped off rims, etc. This was with p mags, thermold 20 rd'ers, and GI 30 rd'ers. Fired through a Sig m400, which has been as steady as a Swiss watch. The ammo was on sale at Cabelas a while back, so I picked up some to try. Basically steel cased russian, but I never had these problems with russian 7,62x39 in my sks. Tight chamber in the sig, or am I missing something else? Only mods to the rifle is an A1 stock and buffer assembly.
  13. I used to use a Sako .375 H&H with a .375 lead round ball over a small load of Unique with cotton ball filler to thin Jack Rabbits in west Texas. Never had to stop a charge, however.
  14. NPR will piss you off on a regular basis, also, but it's the best game in my area for news in the morning, (just keep your BS filter up to date), and I like Car Talk on the weekends while I'm in the shop. Plus I can't stand pop-rap-new country&western (hahaha), indie rock, etc, etc.  A solid hour of Rush and Hannity just annoys me, also.
  15. word here on the plateau is it was a deal on 1/4 pound of pot, maybe 6-700 bucks on the market. It was on the entrance to Renegade Mt., a kinda resort development-golf course-retirement-ski resort- place that never really took off since the 70's.
  16. Crew chief.  A first light flight at dawn, with the mist laying in the valleys and the air cool through the doors makes you want to do it for free.
  17. I got basically the same form letter from Alexander, and a slightly modified version from Corker. Interestingly, I received almost the same answer when I asked them their stance on intervening in Syria about a month ago.
  18. Colt Peacemaker 4.25" barrel .22mag,  2nd would be sig p225/p6.
  19. Ruger Blackhawk in 45 lc. I shot silhouette with that gun and some of the 250 gr SWC loads, with scary amounts of 2400, 4227, and h110 powders behind them, are a testament to the strength of Ruger's. Wish I still had it.
  20. Midway USA has remington 22 lr as of 3:20 pm cst.
  21. I finally got a confirmation e-mail, turns out it's backordered to 5/25.
