  1. Written at the Alamo by Col. William Barret Travis on February 24, 1836 as the Mexican tyrant Santa Anna’s troops began their siege, this letter is considered a Texas treasure and one of the most stirring battleground letters in American history.   Now, for the first time since it was written, the iconic "Victory or Death" letter is returning to the Alamo for a once-in-a-lifetime exhibit.   http://www.travisletter.com/index.html     And appropriately, you can carry at the Alamo.
  2. 15 minutes, about.  They started with around 70 cases.  I think they had some earlier in the day, too.  I just saw it pop up on gunbot and was like holla.
  3. 61 in stock, 1000 rounds, comes to about .34 per with shipping.  I got a case, more than I am used to paying but I'm going to keep the brass.  Be quick, like.
  4. I'll do it Steve.  I got a 92fs.
  5. My Walmart had Fed xm193 9.00 for 20 couple weeks ago.  How long did that PSA ammo last?  One hour?  Demand has not even come close to being rationed.  We either need much higher prices or they need to stay this high for a while.  And when people are saying "well it's not that bad" then you know prices aren't going any lower soon.  There's nothing to do but wait it out.  Or bite bullet (almost literally) and pay.
  6. This is indeed sad, and senseless.  Here you've got a company that's in many ways the Apple of its industry, and the Colorado legislature is spitting on them.  Magpul has an opportunity to do something not many people or organizations get to do: show up an incompetent government.  I have no doubt that when they move (and I guess now it's gone from if to when) they'll be stronger and more profitable than ever.  At that point we should all send each legislator who voted for the ban a nice, dead crow, complete with utensils and napkin, for them to eat.
  7. Aim had the Bulgarian surplus back in stock on Friday, started with about 700 cans.  I just checked and it's down to 88.  Lasts longer than 22 or 556, but yeah there's a healthy demand.
  8. Count me as one of the recent converts to the church of reloading.  I stocked up well on factory ammo the last few years, but in the future I believe reloading is where it'll be.  Don't have a press or any tools yet, but I have begun buying powder and primers.   I've been thinking about reloading berdan primed 7.62x39.  I've read a good bit about it, and some say it's too much work to bother with and others say it's not that difficult at all.  It's appealing to me because 1)I have a lot of x39 ammo so I can use those cases, and 2) berdan x39 primers are actually in stock right now.    With the cost and availability of everything so uncertain right now, I wonder if you'll see more people reloading steel/berdam primed cases.  When you could get it loaded for less than 20 cents a round there wasn't much incentive to reload, but now that's changed.    All I know so far is that is seems possible to reload berdan, if you're willing to put in the work and get the special tools.  Is that a fair statement?  Also, can brass cases be used more times than steel?  I have a little over 1,000 rounds of the excellent brass-cased Yugo 7.62x39, and was thinking of designating them for future reloads.  Seems like I read that steel cases last only a couple times.
  9. The last bastion of affordable centerfire ammo.  I just got some more.
  10. Reason #12 to start reloading.  Where'd you hear that?
  11. I'll admit I was tempted, I looked, but at 35 cents a round with shipping...just can't do it.  I'm a man of principles.  At some point people have to just say no to these prices.  I don't think we're even close to reaching that point though.
  12. $25 is even better, and if we can all exercise a little patience and discipline we'll see that price before long.  But first, folks need to quit being willing to pay 75-100% over what it used to be.
  13. Just like on land, turn off the juice and things get bad quick.  Those cruise ships are all about packing as many bodies as they can onto the boat, period.  Never seemed like fun to me.
  14. For the first time, the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden tells his story — speaking not just about the raid and the three shots that changed history, but about the personal aftermath for himself and his family. And the startling failure of the United States government to help its most experienced and skilled warriors carry on with their lives. 15. That was my conclusion too.  It was heart warming to see it in stock but I just don't need it that bad.  Still spoiled by the $20-$25 Walmart bricks.
  16. Very interesting.   According to all the economics professors that have suddenly populated gun boards the last few weeks, this store should be out of business because they would have sold out all their stock, or because they aren't passing along the cost raised by their distributors.    Seriously though I do wonder how they're able to keep prices the same.  Have you asked them?
  17. And I guess to twist the knife a little more, NRA made them Publisher's Clearinghouse size for all to see.
  18. I wonder how cost/availability of ammunition will affect the training industry this year.  People might not be as willing to shoot 1000 rounds when it's 60 cents for one stinkin' round of ball ammo.
  19. Will you have any loaded ammo as a TGO only type deal?
  20. Getting a Colt at that price would be gold.  A lot worse ways you could spend your money on a gun right now.
  21. You can't legislate responsibility.  If you could there would be fewer traffic fatalities, teenage pregnancies, and stray dogs.  But our elected officials sure do try, God love 'em.  They really try.
  22. Never understood why people go to a store to buy something...then turn around and sell it.  After the time spent doing all that, plus the gas, how much are you really making?  Just not a very efficient use of one's time it seems.
  23. I got some good deals at Cabelas right before all this nonsense.  After the election I got 500 PMC 223 for 155 shipped, then right around the shooting (might've even been after) I got 500 Herters 223 for 112 shipped.  That was my "in before the lock."   Course it was even less back before 2007 or so.  Prices that'll make you cry now just thinking about it.
  24. Everything of mine stays hot at all times, except when I'm cleaning it or doing dry fire.

That's right dog.  That's how it's done.  And don't let them haters tell you it's magazine.
