Don't forget YouTube. Tons of info on there.

I would say if you kept it well sealed it would last a good while. I have some popcorn that is 12 years old and still pops. AND it would be nice to have as a treat for shtf. Especially if you have kids. I would try it. I saw those bags last time i was at Sam's and I thought about it, too.

+1 Excellent book!

Cool stuff. I have an old gas grill that will soon become a forge.

I give this video 2 thumbs and a big toe up!

I would never have attempted the welding and pinning myself. Def. would have gone in search of a gunsmith for that. And I am going to write the loctite advice down. That's an excellent idea. Midway doesn't have them and I can't find it any cheaper. But if it doesn't interfere I would just as soon have a pinned on FSB and not have to worry about it. I wish I had gold in my dirt. I would have no issues! And thanks, guys, for responding.

Good point.

I'm pretty sure just wrapping in insulation would stop condensation.

I am considering an AR build. If I go through with it I only have the money (not really) to do it once and do it right. Meaning buying quality stuff upfront so I don't have a broke gun I can't afford to fix later. Anyway, to my FSB question. I like the looks of the A2 FSB. But I would like a folding front sight in case I can ever afford some nice optics. I found this: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/2-ARMS41-B-L This meets all the criteria. It's a little pricey but it solves all my problems. Again, I can do this once and I will even spend a little extra up front to get it right. The main thing I am concerned with is it being clamp on instead of pinned on. Any of you guys ever seen/used one of these? Any thoughts? Is clamped on gonna hold up?

Use purple primer and heavy duty cement. PVC will last pretty well forever. It used a lot for water lines so it is good for the long haul. Seal the threads with teflon tape with pipe dope on top (don't let anybody tell you you don't need both) and tighten it up really good. Put everything together and check it for leaks before you put anything in it. You can check it by dunking it in a barrel of water and looking for air bubbles.

What DLM said, Bob... I even went there once and asked to see someone and the lady at the front desk had to ask if he worked for accurate or rio.. I want to clarify that I am not bashing them.. I understand bad batches.. I was just trying to get an idea of whether or not this is just a bad batch or if others have had similar trouble..I intend to contact them and hopefully get it right

So I picked up some Rio 12 ga. 8 shot 1-1/16 oz. 2-3/4 Game loads with extra hard shot called "Classic 30." I like my money to stay local and figured since they had a plant right down the road in Bucksnort that I would try them out. Over half of them swelled and caused the action to stick a bit. 2 of them were so tight that I had to pry to get the action open...and there are 9 left in that box...and I have 3 more boxes..:-\ I tried some Federals and Winchesters and didn't have any problems at all. All this through an 870 express super magnum.

My first pistol was a P95 DC. I freakin loved (and miss) that gun.

Thank you, fellas. I hadn't thought about schools that way. The wording is a little shady so best not to take the chance. I don't think liability is a problem myself, this dude at work is just... well.... nuts.

I just wanted to be sure of a couple of things. 1. It is OK to carry in a company vehicle as long as you follow all the laws and the company is ok with it, right? 2. It says on school property it is OK to have a gun as long as it stays in the vehicle, out of sight and is not handled. Does the HCP holder have to remain in the vehicle or can they leave the vehicle as long as the gun stays locked up in the vehicle and all above rules are followed? I know the answer to the first one but someone has been giving me a little greif saying the company is liable if I mishandle the weapon and I am just looking for a little reassurance. The school thing is because sometimes I have to go on school property for my work. My wife and I work at the same place so I just lock it up in her car until I get back from the school. But, if I can keep it with me and just leave it in my vehicle that would be much better.

I found this a while back The Red Cross in Franklin offers a few first aid classes. Including a wilderness first aid course. I'm thinking about attending this. Here's a link: Wilderness First Aid -
Thanks for the replies guys. I will have to come by and check you guys out HOGNUT. I literally live right around the corner from you and listen to your music alot on the weekends. Bronker, I will have to check PRI out. I know what you mean about Tactical Response but their classes get excellent reviews and I know someone who plans to take go to them for some training.

Does anyone know of any training classes in or around Dickson? Or even close? I am just looking for some good solid self defende and proper/safe handling techniques with pistol and shotgun. I would like to keep it local if possible. I will go where I need to but i try to support local businesses if possible.
