well, what do you dislike about it? You mentioned the trigger, and that can be "fixed" if you are willing to spend the $$ on it. Performance how, did it jam? Do you just prefer the glock shape/ergos? If you can put your finger on what you do not like, maybe we can point to a solution (a tweak to the platform or a different gun).

actually I would say a protest over rodney would be a lot more sensible and logical than getting mad over a vote and worthy of a (nonviolent) protest. I think all but the most insane and idiotic fringe (on either side) can handle the outcome of a fair vote. I dont thing the idiot fringe is large enough for wide scale violence over a vote that did not go their way.

If by riot you mean take any pretext to loot and pillage, yea, there is a chance that will happen. Its the gangs, they take the excuse and run with it for fun and profit. If you mean normal (non gang members), then no, I do not see normal folks of any race blowing up their city over losing an election. A noisy, even disordely protest, sure, but the violence, damage, and assaults are generally confined to a few specific cities and areas and the folks involved are mostly already criminals and folks who are prone to violence.

Its heavy for its size, which makes the recoil feel a lot more gentle than the LCP as well. It should fit in a pocket and the weight should not be a big deal. I can get mine into standard men's pants along with my wallet and a spare mag (not recommended, just showing how small it is). If the gun even remotely interests you, the 938 is a little bigger and STILL fits in standard men's pants with room to spare for a wallet and more. That is in a holster, as well. The size should not be an issue unless you want it in some sort of smaller than normal pocket. The weight may be a big deal if you want it in your jacket pockets, but for pants, it should be fine. I could find a way to carry the 938 in just about any man's wardrobe from tux to shorts and tshirt. Maybe not a speedo or some workout uniforms but IMHO if you cannot get one of these sigs to fit, the only thing that will work at that point is going to be a mini revolver or .25 or similar class of gun. Also IMHO but mens black-tie formal wear has so many layers and so much hot and uncomfortable additions you could carry a desert eagle in it and no one would notice. A regular suit is pretty forgiving too if you have a jacket on. Shirt and tie and pants only, for like work, is the most challenging but here again, no one is going to notice one of those sigs or lcp or the like in a pocket, and mens dress pants pockets tend to be HUGE.

That sweet girl shot by the taliban this week. Was taken to a hospital in england. Which was chosen because it has a first class gunshot wound trauma center. In a country where there are "no" guns or violent crime. Should have taken her to grady. Now they know what to do, get 5+ shot up folks a day or something like that...

You may be able to weaken the spring a tiny bit, but if you go too far you get light strikes. Its not a good idea, really. Trade for p238 = win.

yea those are also quite nice.

well above average at 30 feet. I doubt very many, even professional or competition shooters could beat that by much using a stock gun, factory ammo, and iron sights. Depends on if your sights are off or if you did something on the group placement, but the actual group size is very good. The fliers.... anyone can make a mistake. I would try to get the group centered, whether that is YOU or the sights, but all in all, very good shooting.

I could be (often am) wrong but I thought the dumb trigger insert on glocks and so on were a form of "drop safety" in that if dropped, the inertia of the trigger could not pull itself because the insert would block it. ????? The main reason I like a 1911 is the trigger. The rest of it .... could be improved, in general. I know, I know, blasphemy, but we have learned a FEW things in the last 100 years that just might have improved our ability to produce great pistols. I got to try out a man's tweaked M&P and it was pretty darn good. He had some kind of $200 trigger job, apex or some word like that which was hard to hear thru the headset. It was as good as a cheap 1911 trigger, a little slop but man, it was 10X better than most semi autos.

How did you feel the first time you carried?
Jonnin replied to dieewigeteufel's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
hard to remember it. I am sure I was a little worried about it showing, though my gun was small. Mostly I remember feeling empowered, kinda like getting your driver's liscense. It also felt like a duty -- I have often viewed my HCP as a political statement (simply getting your name on the list, upping the #s and %s so when some politician gets a bad idea, someone can point to us and say "you are about to anger 10% of the voters..." and so on. I dunno, I feel its almost as important as NRA membership that way --- even if I dislike the NRA's tactics and nonsense at times, the numbers work in our favor so I keep a membership, if that makes sense? They may not be the best but they DO represent me fairly well on a regular basis. -
Heh, did not know that. I figured he could sell out a tour but the last time I heard about him as a major star was 20+ years back. I must listen to the right station.
-
most of the really loud ones are has-been's looking to get ANY KIND of attention at all --- which stimulates a little bit of interest and sells a few copies of their old material. This seems to be true on both sides of the aisle. Once in a while you get someone who is current opening their trap but most of the current folks just want to make music or movies or play their sport etc. The folks you will see trying to get their 20 seconds on the news are people have not had a major piece of work since 1990.

Lance Armstrong Banned for Life and Stripped of Titles

But they can prove it. Hero or cheater or just one of a group of cheaters.... whatever, the proof appears to be there in the old samples vs newer tests, or so says the news (which is sometimes way off on facts, but something is going on). Leaving the cheaters alone is an option of course .... I don't care one way or the other. -

Hah the beginning of the end. We will engineer idiots because we need shock troops, athletes, and entertainers ...... and the usual behavior of such folks is to whelp with anyone they happen across. The gene pool will be diluted until only the occasional mutant has an IQ over 100. -
that is a very old joke. Someone just borrowed it to make the call --- its a joke/prank

sweet, hope it shoots like a new one for you. -------------- K 98 shoots best of the whole mauser family? That is a pretty big claim. They are nice guns, but better than what?? The ones I see most often have been assembled from a sack of random parts and their bores look like .... they went thru a world war or something. I find it a bit hard to believe those shoot better than a LNIB other model preserved from outside the wartime used guns. I have not had the chance to shoot a LNIB 98 to compare it to the others, so its possible, but finding one like that.... they cost what, over 10k each?
-
yes, its Argentine but made in berlin for the argy government. My advice is to tour the gunshows within an hour or so drive. Then you can LOOK at them and see the bore yourself. In between shows, educate yourself on what to look for.
-
I really like my 1909. I have looked at others and picked them up at shows, but nothing else comes close to it for me. If you want a collector, get one sooner rather than later. Mixmaster and ruined guns are still cheap, for a shooter, and always will be.

the difference in 9mm and 38 in short barrel carry guns is minimal. So you are losing a lot of shots with the revolver and its not all that much more potent.

I just do not buy the "blame the rich" mentality as a source of any sort of problems in this country. In general, the well off pay more actual dollars in taxes (not %, but actual dollar for dollar). In general, they give more actual dollars to charity (often to lessen their taxes, but the result is still good). In general, they quietly drop in a big check to fund the resurface of the parking lot or mission trips or new building at that church, or make up the difference at the end on a "donate X amount" goal for a special offering. In general they spend quite a bit which provides someone, somewhere with employment. A silly rock star may be a jerk but his tour provides jobs for dozens of folks to set up the stuff, security, and more. Some people are greedy. Not all of those are rich. Some people are generous, and not all those are rich, either. But take it even farther. So what if whatever billionaire does NOT choose to give away his money because "no one needs that much" or whatever the rationale is? There are only 2 ways to solve that "problem" if you agree it is indeed a "problem". 1) the guy can have a change of heart and give it away to be nice. 2) you can steal it from him (with taxes, penalties, punishments, and so on) and "force" him to be "charitable". IMHO stealing from people is always more wrong than someone wanting to keep what they have earned or inherited or won or whatever. And, again, even the guy that keeps his money close is going to creat jobs and spread it around unless he is a miser or something. Even the greedy option of investing it in stocks has a positive impact on the country --- he may get richer, but it also allowed the company that he bankrolled to buy new equipment or do some R&D too.

If you read the stuff, they KEPT samples from some of his old tests. The old samples test + for performance enhancers. The tests have gotten better, is all. Also, while they tried to test him all the time, he was also actively avoiding the testers as much as possible and has lied about the # of tests. Actual number of tests was a fraction (like 1/5th or so!!) of the tests he claimed were performed. I do not see a conspiricy. What I see is one of 2 things, and its unclear which. Either they are seriously going to try to clean up the sport, or LA did something that has made him a target so that that powers that be for some reason want to tear him down personally. Hopefully they are going to try to clean up the sport, in which case, I would expect to see a LOT MORE people being banned from the sport, along with a number of doctors that were working with the team to enable the dope. -
they should have imported more of the 9x18 83s. They mistook the demand for the caliber in the US, I think.

I have the M&P that has these features. The dust cover, while nice, is absolutely worthless for a gun that goes from safe to range to safe again without any exposure to, well, dust! I have used the FA once when I made a bad batch of ammo that every 5th or so round did not quite chamber. Fixed the issue with my reloading and never used it again. So, as others said, mostly worthless. And certainly not worth the $150 more that model costs.

Biden is doing well --- he may be lying and misleading but he is aggressive and has not been sticking his foot in his mouth. He even had a couple of good points --- I am 100% behind pulling out and letting the countries deal with their own problems. I would do it today, not in 2 years either. We simply cannot afford military spending abroad to help our enemies to run their countries. Ryan blew several good chances. Right away he missed his chance to mention that Biden was against the strike on ossama. He missed his chance to give details on 3 different topics, making him look like he did not know or, worse. At best, its a draw. But to the uninformed voter watching this mess, Biden's "im louder so im right" and general agressive attitude is making him look like he knows what he is talking about better.

I knew you would know. I was calling the .72 approximately 1 inch actually, mixing up an actual mil & a mildot a bit. I can barely use the thing, and have about given up; I cannot focus on the dots with my eyes as doing so blurs the target beyond use. Just can't seem to see both the dots and the target at the same time, but my eyes are not very good.
