  1. If you are ever up in the Northern Virginia area near WDC, visit the Udvar-Hazy Center, part of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. It is near Dulles Airport and they have an amazing array of aircraft to include an SR-71, the original and restored Enola Gay, a Boeing 707 and a Concorde. Its all indoors under one roof. 2. Outpost. Folks are friendly and helpful and made me a great deal on the SP101.
  3. +1 on the radon testing due to its prevalance as a result of the Chattanooga Shale. However, the Lowe's radon test kit was the worst rated one by Consumer's Reports. Try the RTCA (Radon Testing Corp. of America, www.rtca.com). Costs a bit more but worth it. When we bought our house the initial readings were 4.5 times the acceptable rate. That level is equal to about two packs of cigs per day as I recall. After $3500 of work it was remediated to less that 1 part per whatever is measured. You are getting alot of good advice here. Best of luck.
  4. Welcome. You've come to the right place.
  5. Thanks, Chem... An interesting holster. Look forward to hearing how you like it.
  6. XRing - tks much for the report. I purchased one from Dralarms (great guy to deal with, btw) and plan to take it out the first time this weekend. I have the Glock .40 version. If things go well I want to add a few accessories. EastTN - got any pics?
  7. Sincerest condolences, Raoul.
  8. Its good in hot tea, too.
  9. The dude in Winchester (or wherever) who's peddlin' cars and says his question is, "why buy anywhere else." I'd walk before I bought a car from them.

    Today in History

Varying reports say that 1,000-5,000 WWII vets die each day. The descriptions of their generation are greatly underexagerated, IMO. Not sure today's could pull it off.
  11. If you ever see "fragrant meat" on a menu in a Chinese place, it was rover.

Sorry to hear of your mishap Babajuc and hope you are fully recovered soonest Glad that you can still type with your other arm as I greatly enjoy your posts. I endorse that Tennessee sipping whiskey as a therapeutic remedy and usually use same as preventive medicine.
  13. That's a great story, Will.... I remember Jr. from Hee Haw, too. He just kinda sat around and smiled. He was probably 4 bills then.
  14. Ditto on the Federal. It shoots fine. Enjoy your 23. Its may EDC and I really like it for many reasons.
  15. Oh yeah, one more. Seen in Georgia about two years ago... " Honk if I'm paying your mortgage."
  16. Two of my favorites. One I first saw at the Gettysburg reenactment in the mid-90s: "North 1, South 0 Halftime" The other I saw very recently in the Washington, D.C. area. A lady driving a Chevy SUV had a sticker on the back that showed a picture of Obama from chest up, in a suit, head tilted up in a "distinguished" pose. The caption read, "Does this ass make my car look bigger?" I almost had a wreck laughing......
  17. Very sorry for your loss, Tommy.
  18. QUOTE]My main point is that he will be a politician. At that point he will lose any value that he had, but he will be or guy right? I would like to think that the leader of the free world would be well spoken. Your views may differ. To each his own. By defiinition I guess he should be called a politician if he is elected although that's not his background. But to say that he will lose any value he had? Does that mean all politicians have no value? If so, do you ever vote? He's not a bad public speaker, perhaps not the best, but not bad. As you say, just my view.
  19. True. The problem with Mr. Cain is that he is trying to become a politician. What do his oratory skills have to do with his qualifications to be an effective president and leader? He speaks well enough. Look what we have now - great speaker with no skills or leadership abilities.
  20. Oh, it counts as cooking alright... Just like drinkin' beer counts as rehydration.
  21. Mine wouldn't fire Remington rounds. Lots of FTE. Went to Winchester and have had no further problems. Otherwise, nice for plinking.
