  1. It is indeed way off base. The head of the CIA is the Director. The original post implies that the Director of the agency endorsed someone. Since that person is named by the sitting president I'm thinking that person wouldn't be endorsing a candidate of the opposite party. Scheurer was head of a unit, any station was a virtual one located inside CIA headquarters. This is not the same as a Chief of Station in an overseas office. To say it was "a little misleading" is an understatement.
  2. Your title is WAY off base. He is not the "CIA Chief" - now and never was. He was a mid-level manager who left the CIA years ago. I admire the strength of his convictions but his endorsement of Paul means nothing more than yours or anyone else's.
  3. Saw this on another site. Stuff called Never Dull, The "Magic Wadding Polish". It is treated cotton wadding cloth that is combustible and long-lasting. Comes in a metal can. The MSDS says the flash point is 145F. It can be used to polish knives, etc. Haven't used it but it sounds viable. Apparently, the fumes emitted when lit are non-toxic, according to the mfgr. 4. Congrats! Now you feel better, smell better and have more money in your pocket.
  5. Very nice. Does she have to share with bar tenders, dishwashers, etc? My daughter had a similar situation some years ago and didn't get near the amount of the tip. Regardless, she is obviously a fantastic waitress/server. In the right place one can make a decent living off tips. Happy New Year to all.
  6. "So, you DO know about Bill's ...."
  7. Will - Having spent a fair amount of time in NYC I can tell you that your description is not always the actual situation. Non "rush hour" on the major streets and on many of the side streets it can be desolate, especially late at night. It is not always large crowds everywhere. There would be no reason not to have a handgun there if it was legal.
  8. Obama knows he has serious opposition (namely the NRA) to gun control and doesn't try jam it down our throats. Imo, the most important long term impact is his nomination of federal judges who are anti-gun. President Obama's Anti-Gun Agenda Shows No Sign Of Stopping | Fox News
  9. Congrats, Caster.... Now you can "step up" to the G23 for your next one. Sounds like you just gotta tell your wife. When is your birthday? LOL
  10. Greg - That's absolutely beautiful.
  11. Timestepper - I hear ya about the rent! Nice one. I'm in the same boat. My wife and I are fortunate enough to get pretty much what we want when we want it although we are not wealthy. Some years ago we decided to take what we would spend on each other and give it to several local charities. We have tried to get our kids to do the same. I get more satisfaction out of that than anything as it seems the older I get the less I need/want. Hope all of you enjoy Christmas and His birth. God Bless +
  12. wife or gun? LOL I'd say both!
  13. Welcome, Steve, and thanks for your service. Merry Christmas, too.
  14. Merry Christmas to all. I learn alot here and sure have more than my share of chuckles from some of you fellow knuckleheads! Hope each of you have a great 2012, understanding that it all ends next December. Special thanks to TGO David for all your work to maintain the site. Cheers!

  18. +1 ... an excellent choice
  19. Get him to the vet. Your diagnosis may be wrong and it could be something (like a spider/tick bite) that is treatable. Good Luck. Sincerely hope he makes it through this.

    Hello

Stay safe over there. I sincerely appreciate what you do. God Bless.
  21. +1 .... also, anyone remember ACORN? Getting an ID is as easy as visiting your DMV in most states. That doesn't seem too onerous to me.
  22. God bless him. Prayers for him and his family. I simply cannot express my sadness when one of ours is lost or injured.
  23. I also picked up three of the five gallon frosting buckets at my local Wally World. They were free and I'll use them for long term food storage. Just need to procure some gamma seals for ease in access.
