We were at the Grand Canyon and came across a bunch of cars parked off the side of the road. Come to find out there were 3 cow and 1 bull elk that people were actually approaching as close as they could get to them to get a picture. I could tell the bull was on high alert and had his eye on one guy in particular. Lucky for him a ranger saw it too and got him to back off. These creatures are huge. They can kill you with one sweep of its antlers or a swift kick.

In the Gatlinburg area we also see a bear or 2 wander into town on occasion. There are those that do the same and want a picture so they get as close as they can, some with their children, not understanding the danger even a small black bear can present. God bless them.

I've seen people hold toddlers out the car window to see bears on the side of the road in the Smokys.

I watched a whole group of people crowd around the base of a tree at one point in Cades Cove to look at a Black Bear cub up in the tree. No one bothered to wonder how mad mom would be when she showed up and the cub was treed. I left before she showed back up. I like all my appendages minus the teeth marks.

Even does can stomp you. That'd be a little embarassing to get beat up by a doe though, lol. If this ever happens to me, I sure hope no one is running video!
