HELP!!! I need someone to “Learn Me”

Recommended Posts

Howdy fellers! I just made a trade. Part of that trade was a Zastava cz99. It looks like a great little pistol. About the size of a Glock 19. Looks almost identical to an Sig p226. Other than trigger guard I dont see a difference. Maybe a clone? Any info on this pistol would be great. Thanks

It's a clone mix. Zastava made these in the 90's to replace the m57 for the Yugo military. The design mostly mirrors a p226 while also taking some notes from Walther's p88. That's just what I've been able to find through some googling. Not much about these pistols it seems.

Never owned one but about 10 years ago they were fairly commonly seen in the 'budget pistol' case in many shops.  Retail price at the time was $350-450.

I read a review in Dillon's Blue Press magazine and the one thing I remember was the accuracy was not good, like 4-5" at 10 yards.

Thanks guys. I’ve done several hours on these since the trade. Apparently they are more of a budget gun. Not really an issue personally. I’m weird though. I still swear my Taurus PT99 AFS shoots better than my M9 Beretta in the Army did. I have not shot the Zastava yet. I wanted to take it apart and make sure mechanically it’s safe. Clean it up and then let it rip. I just couldn’t find any assembly/disassembly in English! I may just field strip it and use good old spray cleaner and REM oil, a good wipe and let it rip. I may end up getting the frame cerakoted. It looks a bit beat up when the finish it wore off. I guess I will see how it goes. Probably not worth re-coating but I think looks are important.
Also looks like Zastava made a CZ999 that seems to be a civilian or updated version of it.
