MEGASTAR's idiotic, no good, pointless obsession with a decent Stainless Steel Hi Power, Pt 1 TNs own creation.

In researching Stainless Hi Power copies and knowing that the Belgians never made one in SS...THEY ONLY CAPITULATED TO THE SS (woo hoo!) that's a WW2 joke BTW...

I found an odd thing, I've never seen one in person. Don't know anything about it, but apparently there was a SS BHP clone made in Bristol TN! Baford Arms.

Anyone ever seen, owned or fired one? Any feedback is welcome!

Here's a link to some nice pics.聽https://handgunsoftheworld.com/product/bradford-arms-35-fire-power-9mm-high-power-copy/

I'm seeing 1988-1991 production, or rather existence of the company. Explains the (so cool for the time) Millet Orange front and white outline rear.

I never heard of it either. I thought I knew most of the Hi-Power clones too.聽

I think one of the Turk companies is making one in stainless.聽

Just be patient. I'll bet Springfield Armory will make their SA-35 in stainless before too long.聽馃槈

I have one for sale in the classifieds. Turk company USED to import a Stainless one. But no longer do.

That is going to be the subject of another post, how I found the Tisas BR9 "Regent".

In recent years past. Chuck Warner of Elite Warrior Armament did a run of about 30 stainless billet steel BHPs.聽 He made some changes to improve on the original in some minor areas, the most obvious of which was a thicker frontstrap to allow aggressive checkering.聽 I have a friend who ended up with one of these and he approached me to do a minor tweak or two on it.聽 I took the opportunity to take a good set of photos while I had it.聽聽 It was a fascinating labor of love and I kind of wish I had gotten in on the original sale when he was making them, but funds and fortune were at odds once again.

Pure speculation on my part, but I strongly suspect that鈥檚 built on a raw FEG frame like the Charles Daly HP I used for a modernized HP build.聽

I believe Warner sourced his frames from FAMCO, Florida Arms Co, who were offering stainless frames and slides around that time.聽聽 He probably got them to tweak the CNC model for his specific want list (thicker frontstrap etc.).聽聽 It's likely there could be other one-offs built out there on other FAMCO frames, but I mentioned Warner's guns as he was the only one offering a series of guns on stainless that I know of.聽

I also had an e-book on the FEG High Powers but I'll have to hunt it down to check if FEG ever actually offered stainless pistols.聽聽 Then there were the Arcus 94 guns which were BHP inspired but that's kind of beside the point for this topic.
