Type 44 Arisaka

Recommended Posts

My uncle emailed me yesterday to ask if I wanted a Japanese rifle. Of course I did. I picked it up today to find it is a semi uncommon type 44 carbine. The stock has been sporterized, the bayonet and cleaning rod was missing, as was the sling and sling mounts. The barrel and action was in very good shape. The mum crest was unmolested. This was a VERY nice gift. I am intrigued with it as I've never owned an Arisaka. What would it take to return this gun to original condition? It has been a good day.:)

Sounds like all you need is a new stock and a cleaning rod. Go pick up a Shot gun news and peruse the pages. There is a dealer in the back that carries stuff like that. I think they even have the monopods for them. You can also pick up a reproduction bayonet. I think form IMI-USA.

Thank your uncle a bunch for the great gift and congrats!!!
