Anyone been to Vegas?

Same here. My 6 or 7 trips to Tunica in the past have taught me that. Now the buffets in the casinos are where it's at... :D

I should have added that the buffets are incredible! Also, for some reason distances are way farther than they appear. I found this out after walking from one end of the strip to the other. It is weird how you don't notice yourself sweating. Drink lots of water.

There's quite a bit to see other than the inside of casinos - the Grand Canyon is not too far to drive - I've done it several times. It's a long day, though. Death Valley is an easy drive, Mt. Charleston, Area 51, Hoover Dam, Laughton/Davis Dam, Needles, Searchlight. Just rent a car and take your camera. The lights on the strip at night are unbelievable.

I found the strip to be a very misleading place. My perception of size and distance was greatly distorted due to the absence of landmarks. There are nothing but rows of gigantic hotels up and down the street with nothing else around but desert. When walking from one hotel to the next, it appeared to be like walking from one house to the next in a subdivision, when in reality, it takes about twenty minutes to walk from one to the next. There's actually an area in one hotel, Paris I believe, that has a thunderstorm in the lobby every so often. It's pretty neat.

Vegas has some of the worlds best restaurants, shopping, etc.. I loved just seeing the sights. We also had a blast in the swimming pools at Caesars Palace, they are amazing. If you have a since of adventure you can do the zip line over a part of the Grand Canyon, it will take your breath away. There is so much do to you can not be bored.0.jpgCaesars_Palace_Main.jpg

Went back in the 90s. Was pissed because I lost $80 that week. Saw Jackie Chan, John Bobbit, and lots of 6' hookers. Saw some mafia looking a-hole betting $30K a hand at Caesar's Palace. Grand Canyon was the best part of the trip--long drive, though. Next time, I'll just fly to Flagstaff. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I'm doing in June.

Thanks for all of the info guys.

I've researched the NV laws and realize there isn't much to worry about as long as wherever you're going isn't posted (minus the usual courthouses, schools, etc.). Are any of the casinos posted ("no firearms")?

Watch out for Harrah's properties. Some of them are posted.

That's the only one I noticed.

Can't say...because it stays in Vegas. High dollar call girl....like on tv. The water show at the Venetian (I think) is cool. Buffets are ridiculous! I'm not a gambler either. I was on business so I didn't get to get out and about. I saw some Siren, pirate show that was outside of one of the casinos. I walked a ton. Oh, don't look the Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican, etc men and women that are clicking those cards at you, you look one in the eye, you will have more porn cards, newspapers, advertisements coming at you will not know what to do!
