Art Linkletter, Gary Coleman and now Dennis. That is three from the Hollyweird world this week. :screwy:

Hated to see that. I always liked him. He was a quirky actor for sure, but I always liked him.

I'll never forget when both he and Jack Nicholson burst on the scene in Easy Rider. I always found Hopper watchable, even though he was in many more poor movies than quality ones.

Agreed. One of my guilty pleasure movies has always been Waterworld lol

Christopher Walkin, Dennis Hopper ftw.

BWT, language warning.

Completely and Totally FTW! But that was great for everyone involved.

And did I also already mention, GARY F'ing OLDMAN!

Just watched "The Trip" last week. A movie from 1967. Hopper had a small roll in it as a dude with a hippie pad (imagine that). It was about an acid trip Peter Fonda's character was having. Jack Nicholson wrote the screenplay. Pretty painful to watch for the most part.

Speaking of those "bad" Hopper movies, ever see "Mad Dog Morgan"?

"Easy Rider" has to be the ultimate Hopper film!

Quirky, intense, downright strange at times. I liked his role in Speed. Then there was Blue Velvet to consider.

Definitely an unusual man and actor.

Yeah, Blue Velvet was pretty "out there"...but good. Hopper was good in anything he did.

I was never a big fan of Hopper's. I did not think he was much of an actor really.

Aside from Easy Rider I do not consider his career to be much of an accomplishment.

My sympathy to his loved ones for their loss.

Memorable roles for me were in:

Giant

Blue Velvet

Apocalypse Now

Speed

Hoosiers

WaterWorld

True Romance

Red Rock West

The Keeper

Last Days of Frankie the Fly

Swing Vote

Lots of other smaller roles, like in Cool Hand Luke and True Grit.

Very prolific actor, if not always very wise about what he appeared in. Seemed to just enjoy all the work, though.
