the thing with using a hammer you will always be a little to far one way or hte other. with a tool you can gradually keep moving it w/o overpushing the sight past the intended "zero" it can be cheaper to buy sight tools that blow a bunch of ammo down the pipe.

see, my take on the bayo thing was I thought Mike was just trying to get the newbie to look somewhat ridiculous on the firing range with the bayo on.......i wouldn't put it past some of these guys. seem's the best accuracy the bayo would do is if i ran up to the target, poked it, and then fired. seem's like that would be very accurate.

I have shouts hundreds through both 91/30 and m44, but there are not near as bad as shooting hte rem 12 ga OO bucket 9 pellet 2 3/4 thru my 1970~ 870 wingmaster. I felt that for a couple of days after. and before we shot that we shot both a 91/30 and m44 a few times

Guess I'm in the club. Bought my first Mosin (a 91-30) this weekend. I say first, because I haven't shot it yet and already tried to buy a M44! This could become a problem.

I've shot my Nagant with and without the bayonet. Notice no differance. What should I be looking for?

are you shooting offhand or off of a rest? I have never seen a 91/30 that did not have a different POI with the bayonet on the thing.

Where the bullet goes.

Captain Obvious :poop:

I'v come to the opinion that the mosin is every bit as good as the 30 ought 6. and more fun to shoot

How is it more fun?

remember the "ugly" Mosin? the one with the nasty aluminum sight, the "sporter" stock, and the cutoff barrel? Yeah,...that ugly. We put a scope on it. now it's an ugly rifle with a scope that cost 50$ more than the rifle. Still fine tuning but it's shooting within 2" of a 4" clay at 122 yards.

Still not sure what the "Nazi Skewer" (bayonet) is supposed to do...tighten the barrel? Make the bullet spin? Make the muzzle 2 pounds hevier? What am I missing here?

Changes the Harmonics of the barrel
