5th district - Cooper vs. Hall: Thoughts?

Anyone have any thoughts on whether Hall has a chance to unseat Cooper? I don't know much about Mr. Hall, but I've got to believe he would be an improvement.

I would vote for a dead guy before I voted for Cooper! He is one of those politicians who thinks he is infinitely better than those he represents, either because of his education (at Vandy) or just because. It doesn't take much to sound better than Cooper. The only thing I like about Cooper is that SOMEONE, using his name, from his office, responds to my e-mails, and I am not afraid to fire them off regularly. The bad part is that he has not once said anything that I agree with. Always thanks me for sharing my opinion, then goes on to tell me how smart he is with his contrasting opinion. But Hall DOES sound good.

Cooper's base is not motivated to get out and vote like last time. Voter registration fraud will be much lower since it is being more closely scrutinized. Cooper hass essentially run unopposed for the past three election cycles. Before that, no conservative had a reasonable chance of unseating him. This is the best chance we have had to get rid of him. And with the redistricting that will happen in 2011, once gone, he will have a very hard time coming back.

So, if you want to get rid of Cooper, make sure everyone against massive government spending, voter fraud, corruption, and 1.6gallon toilets votes for Hall.

I agree! I don't know much about Mr Hall but I do know Cooper. Cooper's record speaks for itself so Cooper will never get my vote and whoever is running against him will. Cooper is a Pelosi Puppet and if they are not voted out they will certainly bring the US to her knees. I sure hope that Cooper goes down in flames in this election.

Again, a sizeable portion of the public are niave dolts and vote according to who has the most commercials on TV. I've seen quite a few Cooper commercials but no Hall commercials. Hall needs to grab a big handfull of mud and run a slew of commercials showing that soulless vampiar b/witch Nancy Pelosie pulling a string on Coopers back controlling every vote he makes.

Well he needs to get his name out there and put Cooper tight with Pelosie which he is. Any conservative or even independent thinking person should vote against any candidate who sides with Pelosie. Hall needs to find a photo of Cooper standing side by side with Pelosie and photoshop a Karl Marx button on Pelosie. Maybe you can tell some of the politicians I despise the most are California female politicians. It has nothing to do with women in general but they seem to have sever case of self rightousness, sanctimoniousness, and narcissism. That includes Pelosie, Boxer, Feinstein, Waters and I'm sure quite a few more.

There's quite a few male politicians I disdain just as much.

Always liked Festus the best. Funny how he and Matt have been shot about 20 times each but when they shoot someone they die with one bullet.

We will see tomorrow, I don't have alot of confidence that Hall will beat Cooperlosi, the district is kinda liberal. I really really hope i'm wrong though, that would make my day to see Cooperlosi defeated.

It was always a long shot. 5th District is HEAVILY liberal. Remember that re-districting will take place in 2011. That should split Cooper's liberals up so that he can't get a majority vote any more. I figure that this will be his last term of office.

I'm not convinced they will attempt to get this seat through redistricting. Davidson County is so heavily liberal that you would need to chop it into 4 or 5 sections, with each of those sections being joined with more conservative neighboring counties, to outweigh the libs in Davidson. Your margin would still be so thin that you would run the risk of losing 2 or more of those districts when the pendulum goes the other way. I think they will continue to isolate all the libs in Davidson and Shelby and concede those to the Democrats.
