Good Evening Gents, I have a friend that is money trouble and wanting to sell me a Mossberg 308. I like the way the gun looks and plan on shooting it Saturday just wondering if anyone has any history with this model. Its topped with a BSA 8x32x40.

Well yours is one of the newer ones, because its in .308. When I bought mine all that was available was .270 and .30-06. They're supposed to be better now. Mine is at Eagle Pass, Tx. now getting a new extractor for the second time. I don't know when it will be home. It shoots good, handles good and I like the weight of it. But its fragile as all get out. They told me on the phone before I sent it back that there was a better replacement for it. Does yours have the knurled bolt handle or smooth? Mine's smooth, because its the old crappy style. I hope mine's way better than it has been. It won't be seeing any action this season.

Sat evening, just finished cleaning my newest deer rifle. This Mossberg is a great shooting gun. after a few shots to get use to te trigger and fine tune the scope I did a 3 shot group with all touching and 5/8 inch spread. went out to 200yrds and 3 shot about an inch spread. not bad for shelf ammo and the first time out.
