Howdy all: I'm a lifelong gun enthusiast that's been trapped in a professional experience for the last 15 years that has pulled me away from my active involvement in all things ballistic. I've decided that it's time to get back to doing what I enjoy before it's too late. So, I'll probably be a little behind in getting up to speed, but anticipate getting my carry permit this year, joining my local range, and getting/sharing some valuable info from/with y'all.

price g, what exactly are you talking about? I'm a new member to this forum. Who, exactly, is "we?" And what do you mean about "serious?" As I've already told the group, and I assume you read (since you replied to my post), I'm a lifelong gun enthusiast. Are you questioning my bona fides? If you are, upon what evidence? I don't have anything to prove to you or anyone else, so if you can't get along with me, please say so, and why, right off the bat. Otherwise, I'm here for fellowship and discussion about a topic I have much interest in. If you want to question a man's seriousness, especially in a not-serious way, I suggest you be more specific.

Relax, Roscoe. What the man meant was that folks here are willing to help in any way possible (such as recommendations for good carry permit schools, ranges, gun shops, carry guns, holsters, etc.), or allow access to guns you might want to try before you buy, or will invite you to join them for a shooting event or just for fellowship offline.

By "we," he meant the collective group that makes up TGO. When he said "only," he meant that all we'd do is help, rather than help and harm at the same time.

He never once questioned your seriousness about the hobby or your "bona fides." If you can't see that, or if you have such a sensitive nature that you get into a fit over a posting online, I'd suggest you might want to reevaluate your caffeine intake. (That last comment wasn't meant to offend, either. And, if it did, my sense of humor would probably be lost on you anyways.)

I sure didn't mean to come off too strong on that first reply; I just want a friendly place to get back into talking about guns after awhile away from it, and I think this is the place for it. I'm the most friendly guy you'll meet, but I'm rather serious guy about being a lawyer and about my gun rights. I look forward to talking with y'all.

Awe shucks, no harm done. The people here on the board are pretty good folks. If you have questions, ask away. I tend to go to Owl Hollow often, though not as much as I'd like, but if your in the Franklin area and would like to go you don't have to twist my arm too hard at all.

A strongly pro-gun attorney, huh? Hmmmm, we may need to chat. I've got a couple of local Sheriff's who need to be reminded about their obligations to follow the laws of this fine State (specifically TCA 39-17-1361).

Welcome aboard! I have not been a member long, but this forum gave me the info I needed to take the HCP course. This is a great place to learn from people who know a lot.
