Tennessee Lemon Law

Judging by your name I would have figured you drove the same thing I do!

Just traded the FJ for the Tundra a little over a month ago. Still within the 90 day time period on the forum of another profile name change so that's why it's still FJCrusing. Did have an FJ for 5+ years and it was great, just needed more room and traded it for a Tundra.

I agree with Gregintenn. I'll never own another Chrysler.

I think these issues get over simplified a lot. People need to put more effort into finding the vehicle that more perfectly fits what they need, and less into brand loyalty. My wife's 05 Chrysler Town and Country has 215,000 miles on it and runs and drives perfectly. Does this mean I would I buy a Dodge truck? Not a chance, and I sure would not drive one of their cars. The minivan design from 97 to 07 was fantastic, and basically won them the minivan war. Toyota and Honda are just now gaining ground because people do not like the new Chrysler vans.

My car is a Chevy Cobalt XFE. It was made in Ohio, has more HP and more MPG than the comparable Honda or Toyota, and cost far less. It has 95,000 miles and never had an issue. In fact I just started my 100,000 mile maintenance in which I simply took the old spark plugs out and put the new ones in and it took all of 15 minutes.

People say that to buy new Hondas and Toyotas is to send money to Japan, and yeah that is true. they don't build factories here just as a hobby, but so what? If I were going to buy a car for political reasons it would be a Ford. I like the way they handled the free money from the government deal. The only issue is I do not like any of the cars they make.

I am gonna stop as I get carried away. Point is people need to do more research about vehicles before they buy them. If you go to a lot and do not know more about the vehicle you are looking at than the sales person does you are doing it wrong.

To the OP, hope you get everything figured out and fixed/replaced. Whatever issue is causing that, wish they could figure out.

Thanks. It looks like it's still leaking so, I'm not sure how this will play out.

The water is ponding after it storms or washing it and it's definitely not a normal thing. My 08 jku sat in the exact same spot in the factory configurations, hard and soft top, and it didn't leak. Top alignment and installation was the first thing tried. Since then it's been door gaskets and other miscellaneous rubber gasket widgets.

I hate that. I'm guessing you have been on TNJeeps.com and even that "other" Jeep site to see if anyone has any ideas? I've read about your issue a few times, but never really got into it so I don't know if anyone ever figured out anything to do.

As far as brand loyalty, I love Jeeps period, don't care who owns them. Loved them since I drove the little MJ's at my National Guard Unit, when I bought my first one after I got out of Basic/AIT in 1991. I"m not a fan of Chrysler/Dodge at all, our 2005 Grand Caravan, well not a fan. Nothing major but little stuff. To be very honest, I wouldn't be happy driving anything else, I wouldn't enjoy it, I wouldn't smile when I get in it, wouldn't get excited when I take down the top (It's always a good day when you can take the top off something/body! ;) ) But it is also a hobby, not just a tool to get from one place to another. I'm glad I can integrate the two.

End rambling.

Hope you get made whole again soon.

Thanks. Yeah, I've been to all the forums and am up on the "it's a jeep thing" things and owner devised re-engineering. After overlooking the rattling valve train, the thin to non existent paint in places, the electronic gremlins and the improperly torqued fasteners, I decided to draw the line at the lakes forming in the floorboard. The only reason I tolerated the other issues was due how much I love the thing. So, I know what you mean about driving a jeep. When I sold my 08, I had dreams of getting something else that would make me happy, but you see what I ended up with. :D

Every manufacturer has its lemons and issues. Just go look in the service area of any dealer. My buddy who is a master ASE tech just bought a new Subaru because they seem to never have problems. Guess what, he got a lemon. It happens and the manufacturer's should take care of it. I think the problem is they want to save as much money as possible and not just take care of it the right way. My buddy with the suburu (after taking it back numerous times) got on the phone with corporate and when he started talking about the lemon law they started getting things done.
