Walmart Sig M400 On Sale Pending or Marketing Spin

Was just at my local Walmart, noticed the Sig M400 was finally gone, in fact it's footprint was no longer there. I asked the clerk if they had stopped carring it since the footprint was gone, he said no. In fact they had several in the back, the enhanced ones, but had been informed by the head office not to set out. He said Walmart was going to do something special like a sale or a special flier. I asked him when, he didn't know. He said his dept. mgr was nervous that someone might place those rifles out too soon.

Anyone heard this, or can any walley associate on tgo confirm this. I am seriously considering this rifle.

Hmm sounds interesting, usually items get placed on flier sales because they are having a hard time selling. Wierd that they'd not be trying to sell them at regular price as much as possible before blowing them out the door on sale. Wonder the deal will be?

Doesn't sound right. Isn't their business model to keep on hand inventory as low as possible? Especially firearms, I wouldn't think they would pass an opportunity up to move one.

Now that I think about it, I don't recall seeing firearms in any of their flyers for a long time.

Oak Ridge Walmart has 4 m400s. 2 with no case but with a 4x scope. Those 2 can be sold now. The other 2 have a soft case and no scope. They cannot be sold till Nov. 1. I believe the ones with the case are about 40 more than the others.

They had guns on black Friday last year, might be for that

Black Friday, is a good guess. Though, they tend to sell things on Blitz that they don't normally keep in stock… I mean the super good deal stuff. And it's a little early for that. The GMs probably haven't gotten the memos yet. Sometimes they will stock it after at regular price. Still you never know with them. Everything they do depends on how much they can buy at the cheapest price & mark up the most. I'm not complaining, their mark ups are lower than the competitors, most of the time. Then again they could be having a dispute with the distributors/manufactures like they had with Apple & the iPhone.

Update, I received an email for Walmart Black Friday ads, Sig M400 will be $867 for the enhanced. So that was the deal, bascially $50 off.

Walley World is starting their sales on Thanksgiving Day around 20:00. I have to work a 12 hr shift, 1900-0700 that day. My store doesn't sell firearms, but has limited selection of other firearms related items. Edited by ArmyVeteran37214

Is that Stevens a black Friday thing, or every day pricing?

I'm betting on Black Friday pricing.

That's a nice version in the ad- with Magpul stocks. No scope tho. That rifle is in ad #3 and those items go on sale at 5 AM. I'm wondering if they are going to be able to do the transaction at that time of morning because the store calls in to the state for the background check. Is the state's call center staffed at 5 AM?

Also, not all stores will have the SIG M400. Only the stores traited for AR style rifles will get them. If your store doesn't carry AR now they won't get them.

Update, well I made it to my local Walley. First in line at the sporting goods desk, actually the only one in line. The sales associate whom I know on a first name basis from all of the ammo I buy, met me with a sleepy smile, and worked with me. I was only interested in the Sig M400 in ODG color. She said they only had two, and both were black. Good grief, my planning, my selling off useless items over the past 3 weeks, was fading away, I chose the wrong the Walmart to stand in line. Anyway, took off to another larger WalMart (Maryville). Got there 6am, and whew! They had only one ODG left. Recieved my time appointment, and now I am happy owner. I will post pictures later.

We got one of the 12 ga. at our local china-mart. They had three and we were third in line. They did have 6 of the sig ar's though. We got it at 5:00 am and had to put it in lay away and go back after 9:00 am to do background check and pick it up.
