Arming and Disarming

Someone please help me understand the following:

Washington is giving Egypt,s Morsi and the Muslim brotherhood F-16 Fighter Jets and the technology that goes with them.

Each plane valued at $14.6 million.

Morsi hates our ally Israel.

Egypt is a powder keg and a potential enemy of the US

Most hard working Americans taxes have gone up, because our legislators need more money.

We are arming a very potential enemy with my tax dollars.

Washington wants to disarm me of the guns that I bought with the small amount of excess cash they left in my pocket

There is only one word that comes to mind after pondering this and that is "TYRANNY"

The U.S. government spent tens of millions arming the Taliban to resist the Soviets in Afghanistan.  Then we invaded and fought the very people that we armed to the teeth.

They just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again......

Did the same with Iraq. Iran probably would have whupped 'em without US support.

The deal was done in the past, the planes were built for the order, if they did not ship the factory

would have to eat them, the rest are on hold as of now.

I recived an e-mail from one of my Senators, She gave me the info,

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi blocked any move to stop the shipment.

I have sent a "few" e-mails about this very thing.

Ever read "animal farm"? The pigs are running the show. Any educated, working, gun owning, citizen should be appalled with the bottom feeding, septic, bloodsucking, hypocritical, statist, treasonous, parasitic, puss filled leaches in the senate, congress and of course in the whitehouse. We are being treated like lobotomized whores. Term limits. Impeachment. Measures mus be taken. The Amerikan welfare recipients are strangling this once great nation. The pigs need to find a new host. I've said enough and I am pissed.

That was then and this is now.  The deal was made by our government using our money to purchase from the manufacturer.  The GIFT was a deal made with a different government who had a different attitude toward the US an Israel.  If our government had any clue of what is best for our country they would cancel the gift to Egypt and retain the F-16s and Abram tanks. Maybe greater strength in our military would offset the weakness that has been conveyed by this inadiqate administration.

I failed to mention the Abram Tanks we are sending them under the cloak of being "foreign aid"
Cost of each unit is $44.8 million

M1A1's cost less than 10% of that, M1A2's are about $6mil And since M1A2Sep's are our newest technology at the moment, we will not be sending them, I believe those are in the neighborhood of $8mil each (but not certain). Not sure how they are coming up with a $44mil price tag on them, and the Israeli AF would be able to wipe everyone off the map in a single day so I could care less about the tanks.

I don't think we should send anything, but what should concern people more so than the tanks is if they were to get just 1 or 2 f-16's... and we're sending an entire fleet

<edit> not sure if your "unit" is each tank or a company. If it's a company, that would be more reasonable as that will be 14 tanks. (if they use the same structure as us)

Yes Sam1, I think I just glanced at that figure that was listed and it may have been the cost of the first shipment. When it gets up into those figures it is a little hard for me to relate anyway. Why don't I answer this question like Hilary would. $44 million or $8 million, what difference does it make?
