I was so impressed with the Ontario machete that I bought one of these:

Blade length is 9.75", made of 1/4" 1095. 22.4 oz. Kraton handle. The pic is borrowed; I bought mine used. Can't wait to get out in the back yard this weekend and test drive it. Fits the hand well and seems well balanced.

Those are nice bowies. I made one very similar for myself. Great camp blades
