Serious Gun Peoples Worst Nightmare

Actually it looks like they used a die-grinder. You can see the spray of dust and debris all up the front of the door. A torch doesn't do that. The cuts are also very straight and in places you can see where the metal is bent, like they twisted the cut pieces back and forth to break them off.

That safe looks like an entry-level Browning. It's good for keeping honest people honest, and maybe protecting your stuff for 20 minutes of exposure to a house fire. There are far better safes on the market and those photos are proof of why you should buy one if you really want to protect your stuff.

Yeah like a Cannon. My father-in-law had to hire a gunsmith to replace his locking mechanism.

Took him two days of drilling 14 holes just to get it open.

I was sold.

call me cynical but I'm pretty suspicious of this one.

They did use a torch, not a grinder.  Cuts are too crooked and what appears to be dust is actually discoloration of the paint from the heat of the torch.  Looks like they only cut through the outside layer then manually unlocked the pins.  The heat would not have went inside the safe to the point of catching stuff on fire if this is what happened.

Looks like there's a james reed listed on the sex registry (possession of child porn) in that area too - james michael reed.  wonder if it's the same guy.

I have a similar safe and it would break my heart coming home and seeing that.

It's no consolation for keepsakes and irreplaceable's but I think my Liberty safe would be replaced free of charge for a break-in, and NRA and homeowners would financially offset my loss. But still that's sad.

Apparently whomever did it pre-planned and was well prepared knowing the time to do it and the equipment / utilities required. I can't imagine something like that happening in less than 30 minutes from entry to exit. Hope they track down the scum and they get their just desserts.
