New to area South west Tn.

Recommended Posts

Well we finally made the move. Happy to have transplanted from the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and now reside in a free state!!!!!

Jackson Area.
So my family and I (we are all shooters) Need recomendations on your local favorites.
Best gun stores.
Best ranges.

I like to reload, so good selections of powders ect.
Also I'm an avid small bore Shilhouette shooter. So advise on the ever illusive .22lr ammo would be great.

Thanks In advance. Edited by David S. Mackiernan

Welcome Dave. We live closer to Memphis so I don't know exactly what you have in Jackson, other than Range USA. That is their newer range. Their original is down in Memphis. It is a good range here, so I assume it is a good range there.

I don't know if you have an Academy sports up there. We have 2 down here and they have 22 on hand. They will let you buy up to 500 cartridges.

Hello David. I am a fellow Madison County resident. There are actually some good gun stores in Jackson with some of the best prices in the state. Brandon at Direct Hit on the south side of town usually has the best, but the good folks at Smokin' Guns aren't bad either and have little larger selection. There is also Parkway Gun and Pawn. I enjoy doing business with them and probably frequent their store even more than the other two. They don't have a large selection but you can sometimes find deals on used firearms there.

No Academy in Jackson, only Gander Mountain and they rarely have .22. However, all of the local stores have had .22 in stock recently, so I don't think finding it will be difficult. Range USA in Jackson is also a very good indoor range. I shoot there usually at least twice a week.
