Would like to try a Ruger LCP .380

Really interested in this handgun and would like the opportunity to shoot one.  I live in the Lakeland TN area and member of MSSA.  Wonder if any other members have one of these and would be willing to meet me at the range and shoot a few rounds.

Would be glad to but I just checked where Lakeland was and it would be hard to be much further apart and still be in TN.

I added a Hogue grip to mine to take a little of the bite out of shooting it. I use a DeSantis Super Fly Pocket Holster with it, conceals very well.

I am not close - East end of Houston County -

But I own an LCP -
My wife wanted one too, LGS was out, she spotted the S&W Bodyguard and we bought it.
I have fired both extensively, and can say that the feel and recoil is identical, although the triggers have a slightly different feel and the Bodyguard has a safety while the LCP does not. It is NOT safe to carry the LCP with one in the pipe unless in a holster that covers the trigger completely.
So, if you get your hands on a Bodyguard, fire it  and you will know what the LCP feels like.

I do suggest you get it with laser sight.  The sights on this size gun are kinda useless, but that laser sight is a dream to shoot from the hip - And besides that, a laser dot on their forehead can cause an intentions change in a heartbeat.

My Lady has been looking for a small, light gun for EDC and  I've been looking into the LCP lately. By all accounts, its a fine little pistol. And the new LCP Custom Model has a much better trigger for only a few dollars more.

I've also discovered an interesting quirk in the used market. It seems that about a year ago, Ruger dropped the price on the LCPs by a considerable amount. New ones can be found for around $225 with some on-line dealers running specials on them for $199. While this is good news for new buyers, it really messes with the used market. Many of the people trying to sell their LCPs paid $300 or more for them. As such, it seems that used LCPs are currently priced higher than brand new ones.

As I said in the other thread, I have both the P3AT and LCP Custom, though technically the Ruger is hers.  Both wear hogue grips, which I think make a significant difference. The Keltec has a slip-on grip that I cut to fit and the LCP has the big over-molded grip.

I bought both at friendly prices from nice folks here.

I'd be surprised if your range didn't have a least one of those as rentals.
