  1. Yes they are lee dies, not sure about primers being lead free or not. 5 minutes with pin chicked up in drill and some emory cloth and problem fixed. Thanks Dolomite.
  2. I know Glock has fixed the problem, my only concern is that the Gen 4 19 will forever be tagged as a problem gun. Does not matter if they personally fix every single bad one and document it. I have been doing this long enough to know there could always be a stigma to Gen 4 19 and I feel the Gen 3 may just be a better gamble when it comes to resale down the road. Not to hijack the OP, I do like your collection, you can never have enough Glocks. If you are not already you need to join the GSSF and start shooting in the Glock Matches to get the maximum enjoyment out of them.
  3. The problem is not all the Speer brass has the too small of hole, and you dont know which ones until you deprime them and the pin pulls out. Then it is a PIA to get the pin out and reinstall. I do like the idea of sanding down the pin. Sometime the easiest solutions are the hardest to see. Thanks.
  4. Had any problems out of the Gen4 19. Am reading over on the Glock forum many are. Am wanting a 19 next, already have a 22 and 33. Am probably going to get the Gen 3
  5. Anybody seen this before. I am reloading 357 sig Speer brass and I kept thinking I was breaking the decapping pin. After the third one in about 30 cartridges something has to be wrong. I pulled the bullet and the decapping pin was stuck in the flash hole. I managed to get the new primer out without setting it off and the pin was wedged in the hole. Guess the flash holes are undersized on some of the Speer brass. Ive got some Winchester and the pin goes right those with plenty of clearance.
  6. Dont hold your breath on these being cheap enough that it will be worth it to cut one up, would think the more likely reason to cut one up will be becuase these will be in junk condition.
  7. Not that bad at all. Basically need a club affiliation. There are all sorts of clubs that qualify from being a member of the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation to many local clubs. Also need to show you had shot in some sort of qualification. Concealed carry class, hunter ed, shooting match etc. It will be well worth the effort.
  8. Got 2 cases today, one for me and one for my buddy. 115.00 a case delivered. Had to get in on that quick or you lost out. I think it went up for sale on a Friday and was sold out Monday at lunch time. Reports from the CMP forum is that it is pretty good ammo, not quite match grade and does not seem to have the FTF problems a lot of Remington rimfire has.
  9. This story has been floating around on a few different forums for a couple of months and the rumor has been out there for years. Here is the general concensus from the Garand experts on the other forums. They will have import marks which will be a big detraction. They will be bottom of the barrel in condition. The wholesalers will more than likely be selling them north of 500.00. The 220.00 is reported as what the importer will be buying them for. Now add the price of getting them here, inventorying them, overhead, profit and then resale to a wholesaler who needs to make money. Southern Ohio Gun had some import marked junk M-1's couple of years back that IIRC were 500.00. Most of the reports that I read the people that bought them sent them back. I bought my Garand last year from CMP for 625.00 shipped to my door. For that I got a Springfield Service Grade that looked like it had never been shot and had a brand new stock. CMP has raised their prices I think 25.00. Go to the CMP forum and read the reports about the Garands that people receive from them. Have never, without exception, ever read a report from someone who did not get a better rifle than what they expected. If these Korean Garands ever do actually materialize you can bet the reports wont be so glowing.
  10. Was not trying to say it did not happen. Just trying to make the point that not all of us out there are nit wits, some are, but most aren't, and it unfair to paint us all with the same brush.
  11. Thats an awful broad brush you are painting with. Jon Sevier has it share of flakes and goof balls just as in any group of gun people. You take any ten gun people in any situation and chances are 3 of them will be a little askew. But dont forget every one of the 50-70 RSO's, including me, at that range are volunteering our hard earned time for no money at all. Thats right, nobody is paid for the countless hours (many RSO's number in the hundreds of volunteer hours in a year) we give in order to provide a safe place to shoot for the people of Knox and surrounding counties along with the Hunter Safety Program, youth shooting programs, kids and women in the outdoor programs as well as many other activities that promote the gun sports. I know most of the RSO's out there and cant think of a single one that would argue over keeping brass especially brass kicked into the air out of a semi auto. There is more 223, 308, 9, 40, 45 brass out there on the ground than a person could pick up in a couple of hours.
  12. Have never bought 17 HMR ammo, but plan to, am really wanting a CZ452 in 17. Would assume that $14 is for a 50 round box, not 20 rounds like a box of centerfire, correct?
  13. Obama is not to blame, it is the unrational fear of Obama perpetrated by a certain organization in an attempt to get you to send them money. Obama has done nothing to take away our rights. I see two signs that nothing is going to happen. First, in the past year Wal- Mart has decided to start selling assault weapons. Wal Mart is a pretty smart company and probaly the biggest gun retailer in the country. If they thought anti gun legislation was on the way they probably would not be making that move or would have the power to stop it. Second, you had the attempted assassination of a female congresswoman and the murder of young girl in the process with a 33round magazine in a Glock. For the anti-gunners this would have been the perfect marketing opportunity to pass anti gun laws. Heck I am the biggest Glock fan there is and even I could have been persuaded to ban 33 round magazines for handguns. What was thier response, absolute silence. I dont even remember seeing one news story about the "Evils" of Glock and oversized magazines
  14. Was not claiming EVERYTHING was a good deal. There was plenty of overpriced items as usual. I did see quite a few a new sellers there that did have some cheaper stuff, rather it be 22 rifles, mil-surp and some project guns. I wish I had some more time to really look everything over as I am sure there was some interesting stuff to be had by digging through it. I will agree, the usual RK vendors, are getting ready for the next Obama presidency and are wringing thier hands in anticiapation. Get ready for the panic to start, am already starting to hear the rumblings.
  15. Went this morning. Usual line to get in. For some reason this show felt different to me than the last 20-25 I have been to there. Not sure if it they opened up and used more of the expo center. Seemed brighter than usual. Also seemed like there were some new vendors there. Cant exactly put my finger on it but just seemed like a better show to me. Only got to spend an hour there due to having to be somewhere else. Did a quick run through, picked up some tyhings I needed and left. Wished I had more time and money because I saw some pretty good deals, for once.
  16. GEE THANKS. now I have another gun on my want list. Just looked at some 581's on Gunbroker. Now I want one of those. Great looking gun
  17. Then you will have what everybody else has. If the M69 is in nice shape it will outshoot any one of those and chances are you will have the only one at the range that day.

    Red Jacket AR

Sure it will be available at Wal Mart soon enough along side the Jesse James and Orange County Choppers merchandise (crap).
  19. pcrc11

    Red Jacket AR

What I really want to know is where I can get a Red Jacket t-shirt and hat so I can be the coolest guy at the range.
  20. Mine will put bullet through the same hole at 25yds with iron sights. 135.00 is a good price. I've got that much in mine with shippign and FFL transfer. Old timers will tell you they could be had in the day for 25.00. Not so anymore. Excellent rifles. Have to work on the mags a little to get them to feed properly. Many leave the mag in and use them as single shot.
  21. Wipe off original shellec with alcohol and apply new shellac, leave the dings and character marks alone. Apply 2-3 coats of shellac over a couple of days. When it is good and dry buff with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. This way you will have the original type of finish minus the scratches and flaking. In a few years nobody will be able to tell after you give it a little bit of use and even more so nobody will care. It is your rifle and your opinion is the only one that counts while it is your posession.
  22. Here's picture of my work in progress 03A3 drill rifle restoration. Am still lacking few parts to complete it.
  23. Here is picture of 5 shots (top left corner)with my M39 I got from SOG last week. 50 yds with gun on front rest only. Guessing wind was blowing 10-15mph. Center shots were with my Contender, 223 Super 14 with 2x7 LER scope. I do love shooting that gun. Same shooting position as the M39
  24. Get you a C&R. Then you can buy a 91/30 for under 100.00 and wonthave to pay a transfer fee. Just one warning, you wont stop at one or two.
