1. Wonder how long this will take to spread. Somebody is gonna see the title of the thread and repost on another forum that they just read on the internet that Obama has signed the order. Then it will be off to the races. Dont forget that nurse who killed herself after that practical joke was played on her about the royal baby. I'll tell you right now there are some pretty riled up people ready to go to war over this debate on a popular Tennessee deer hunting website.
2. I have read on another forum about this footage. There is a link to a video on youtube put out by the  "tin foil hat" crowd that this is a tip off to the whole thing being faked by the CIA and Obama as a way to push the gun control issue. At least that was what I got out of it as the jist of what they were inferring before I turned it off out of disgust. There are a lot more crazier people out there than just Adam Lanza.
3. I am no expert on such things, but every time they say there are no more of a certain type of gun all of sudden more pop up from somewhere. Look at the M44. They were susposedly all gone last year. Price went from $100 to $200 within a month. Now all of sudden they are popping up again at $150-$175 from the whoelsalers. All I can say is sooner or later the supply will have out of all the surplus guns, even 91/30's will run out someday. As to buying one at an inflated price, just remember you did not pay too much, you bought it too soon. BTW- if you do get one the Wolf springs are a must. They are impossible to use in DA with the factory springs.
4. I've got one. Have shot about a box and a half of ammo through it in the past couple of years. I bought mine few years back and got one of the few left at THAT time from IO Imports for around $200. Seemes they dried up for a while, then all of sudden everybody had them again, SOG and J&G even had them for $169 when they came back. It was my understanding that these were not imported in the numbers of the CZ82 and when they finally dry up for good I would expect them to go up in value pretty good. I think they are much better looking than the 82 and quite a bit smaller making them better siuted for CC. Only draw back is round limitation.
5. Worked out perfect, mine was ready to expire in a week. Thanks for the heads up. They did this a couple of years ago as well.
6. JMO, but any battle used rifle should be left as is. If you are going to restore just go ahead and buy a nice one to begin with. SKS are more than plentiful in any type, shape or condition.
7. Chineese seem to get the least respect for collectibility, but most of the time are the best quality. For $300 or less you should be able to find you a nice Norinco that should look like new. The current surplus Chineese SKS's seem to be "well used", but if that is the look you want, most seem to be happy with them who are getting them now.
8. 1gewehr is correct. Any C&R firemarm aquired or disposed while you have the license must be logged. Pesonally if I did not give my license to the purchaser then I always note in my book "not purchased with C&R". I go by the theory that too much info is better than not enough when it comes to my bound book. I have also listed the few C&R eliglble firemarms I owned before I got my C&R. Just noted that were owned before aquistion of license. Should you ever be audited you better have every C&R firemarm in your possession accounted for somewhere in that book.
9. They will stop talking about it as soon as the next big news story hits. Ceratinly Snooki, Lohan, Shean, or a Kardashian will do something newsworthy soon enough.
10. Nice score the 44 Tulas are the rare ones when it comes to Russian M44's
11.
are these the ones that used to be 39.99
I can remember when reloading components were significantly cheaper than they are now also.
12.
I have thought about pitching a chair by the door just so I can catch all the people walking in with guns. I imagine I could get a couple of really good deals by doing that. One guy I talked to at the door had a 1950's Marlin 39A that was in really good shape. It was the short barrel version. It was very tempting, but I had to pass on it.
Saw the same guy with the same gun. It was nice, but he is a regular "standing outside at the door guy". Doubt you would have got a very good deal on that one. He is always one of those guys that wants to steal your stuff on the way in and sell it to the next guy at a huge profit.
13. Only worth it if you have a C&R and want to order one without paying a transfer fee, or you just have to have one that looks like it has been well used. For $25-50 more you can get a real nice one. I picked up a Chineese SKS last year that looked like it had never been fired for $275 and still see them in that price range.
14.
was a pretty good show for me i didnt have time to look around
That was because you were one of the few that had any gun related items. You got me for $10 on one of those ammo cans.
15. Had a time telling if it was a gun show or flea market. I know everybody has been complainlng for some time about the non gun sellers but IMO this one is going to be hard to top as far as the amount of flea market crap. And what was with all the tables with noithing but books for sale. I did find a brand new Boyds stock for a M48 Mauser sporter I am building, never thought I would find one of those at a gun show and for only $45.
16.
It's just amazeing how many weak minded people believe all the crap they read on the internet, and that they hear from like minded people. If anyone of these people understood anything about how the goverment worked they might understand. Eventhough I did not vote for him, I don't understand how people think that Obama can do all this crazy sh*t that people put on the net. He can't just up and take everyone's firearms. He can't just up and band all these firearms. He can't do an yof these things that is all over the internet, just because he might want to. Have any of ya'll ever heard of Congress? or the Senate? For the President to pass a bill into law it must first pass Congress. I sick of hearing about how pissed off people are that other people voted four years ago for Obama because they wanted a change. Most of these people are die hard GM drivers. With out him , there would be no more GM. Now I'm not saying I know what is ahead for the country. But these weak minded people that hate whom is president and everyone that voted for him need to realize that you friends and coworkers did not elect the man. The president it elected by the electoral college, not the popular vote.............Rant over...............Let the hate mail begain
Oh boy you're in for it now. I would post a rebuttal but I am flying out the door as I write this to go stock up on more ammo and guns.
17. Am pretty sure it is legal, just have to make sure the vendor is OK with it.
18.
Well.. if ya got'a go.. you got'a go! And the older you get,, if ya got'a go.. ya really got'a go! About three years ago, we spent a week on the OBX in December. Early one morning I got up early, ate breakfast, drank my normal three cups of coffee, and headed out for a day of metal detecting. The weather wasn't bad at all. Had a cool breeze coming down the beach from the north, but the sun was out, was going to be a great day... I thought? The area I was in had your walkers, yappy dogs, and shell hunters. Guess the nice morning brought more out than you would normally see on the beach this time of year? All was going good... until it hit me... I got'a pee! I was a long way to the bathroom, with all the people around, my only choice was to do a little detecting in the water. The water wasn't real cold...but when it got up to willy, he didn't think much of it! After a quick check of the water, the north wind had more of a bite too! Pat met me up the beach, the first thing she said was... "What are you doing wet?". I told her I had to "go" and walked off in the water... with a big laugh she said, "You peed in your pants!!"... I've never smacked her in 43 years of marriage... that morning was almost a first! To solve this problem... I now wear an external catheter at the beach on cold days of metal detecting and have a choice to go in the water, or not. Race car drivers, pilots, and others use them when a bathroom is not an option. Many use a bag to hold the urine. I just run the tubing down my leg next to my foot... and can now pee in plain site.
I pee the same way I but dont need the catheter. LOL
19. Will second or third the fact thay are the real deal. Came from the same batch as AIM's which have been "blessed" as legit from the head authorities of Mosin collecting in the country.
20. Goes back to my post about only having the outsida antenae. Almost feels liberating not to be a slave to the TV anymore.
21. Dish dropping AMC was the best thing that ever happened to me IMO. It was the catalyst that inspired me to look at other options. I went to an outside antenae and streaming TV off the computer. Now with Netflix for $8 month I am quite happy and saving $100 a month a was spending on Dish. I am paying $2 an episode to watch Walking Dead on Amazon.
22. Hiawasee River and Rail train ends and turns around in Farnum. Definately made an impression on me as "End of the line".
23. Those are both good options but the Swedish Mausers are far and away the best ones built IMO. Have never seen an Argentine close up so I cant speak to those but Swedish Mausers look like they were put together by fine gunsmiths not an armory.
