  1. You have a 91/59. They were cut down from the 91/30 and made into a carbine without a bayonet. They have bringing $250-300 with no problem when put up for sale on the right forums.
  2. Fox & Company has all types of black powder.
  3. Looks like one of Sons of Guns or American Guns latest projects to me.
  4. No reports yet?????
  5. I can remember back in the 80's hearing stories about Russians doing this. Apparently life was so horrible in the USSR they would do it with Vodka just because it would make them drunk much faster therefore numbing the pain of the lives they led that much quicker.
  6. That is what I originally bought to shoot in my 700 in 7Mag. Great round as long as you dont need to shoot too many to get it sighted in. After about 10 rounds you will start to develop quite a flinch after 15 rounds you will feel like like shoulder is going to fall off. I dont use those anymore as I started reloading few years back and have a load that is a lot more pleasant to shoot.
  7. Exactly what part are you seeing that is polished? Looks like a very nice typical Polish M44 to me. I have one just like it in gunsafe that is also non-matching and looks like it came right out of the factory. Paid $160 for it couple of years back. Would not take less $200 for it now.
  8. If you make out of metal you will probaly wear out the plastic main housing that it rides in very quickly
  9. Around 175-200 if in nice shape non-matching. Yours looks to be very nice. Matching numbered bring 250 and up. Of all the M44's the Polish ones are far and away the best built.
  10. Best $100-$150 22 rifle you can buy.
  11. Forum Topics like this and the countless others are reason enough to not get a Gen4 19. I am the biggest Glock fan there is and would not own any other polymer handgun but I will never purchase a Gen4 19. Not because I think there is any problem with them but they will always be tagged as a problematic gun by those who dont any better, therefore hurting your ability to resell or get maximum value out of it when you want to get rid of it. You know how people are and they will use any excuse they can to beat you down and this will always give them all the reason they ever need. I would stick with the Gen 3 19 which is probably the most popular and highest rated gun they ever built.
  12. I've managed to collect a five gallon pail full of range lead in just a month or so of picking. I keep a gallon can in my truck and always try to fill it up at least half way when I go to the range.
  13. I get about 500 rounds out of mine before I have to "help it index" the last 1/8-1/4" or so of rotation. I have been kicking around the idea of milling a hole in the bottom of the square shaft to accept a roll pin. Then drill a hole in the base where the shaft spins and insert the other end of the roll pin in that hole. That would let the shaft turn and not wobble when it turns. IMO that creates a lot of undo wear on those plastic inserts making them wear out faster. Funny thing is when you have the three hole Lee Turret it comes with the insert and rotater made of metal. You would have thought they could have done the same thing with the four hole turret when they developed that. Oh, and I also keep a half dozen of them on hand as well.
  14. Just got off the phone with RCBS and expander should measure .262. Mine measures .258. They are sending me new decapper/expander. I told them I bought the dies used and tried to give them a credit card number and they refused to take any payment. Now that is great Customer Service.
  15. It is marked 6.5x55. Going to assume expander is wrong. Just wanted to check that they dont normally wear. Buying used is always an adventure. I dont mind as I have always found fixing a problem always leads to a learning expirience
  16. I did some measuring and here is what I am coming up with. The case mouth is coming out at .257-.258. The pilot measures .259. The bullets measure .265-.266. According to my manual it is specing the case mouth at .264 and the bullets at .266.
  17. Have you ever seen one wear out or heard of them being out of spec. How do you know if they are out of spec, I've got a caliper but am not sure if it is accurate enough to check something like the ID of a case mouth. I always figured if the bullet would just start into the mouth you were in good shape.
  18. Have been reloading for a couple of years now and have never run into this problem before. I am trying to reload some 6.5x55 Swedish and bought a used set of RCBS FL dies. I have decapped and sized about 50 cases so far and am trying to trim them to spec. However they will not go onto the correct pilot #26 on my Forster trimmer. I then took a bullet and tried to see if it would set into the case mouth. It will not. My question is do the expanders on the dies need replacing every so often, do they wear out. Or am I missing something else I have not noticed.
  19. Does not matter if he wants logged or not. If you have a C&R you must log the gun if it is C&R eligible.
  20. You are probably right in them wanting them to covers their asses. But it is an FFL transfer with a C&R. Just give them a receipt and a copy of your C&R. Why have the C&R if you are gonna use it.
  21. If the gun serial number dates it to 1960 that makes it 52 years old and I would think your C&R would be good enough for the purchase. Just log it in your book like you would any other firearm you purchased from any other corporation. eg AIM, SOG, J&G etc.
  22. Since 99% of us all fall into at least one if not more of the OP's categories it sounds to me like it is time for him to find a new line of business and or hobby. Just curious, I wonder which category he falls into when he goes gun shopping.
  23. I guess " The sky is falling" only in East Tennessee
  24. That wont be happening to mine. Of all my guns, this is the one my 16 year old son has made quite clear he wants when I am gone.
  25. Yep 30/40. I guess I did not notice in your first post yours was in 6.5X55. I've also got a M96 Swedish Mauser in the 6.5. Also a great caliber and a lot easier to come by. I shoot the 139 grain Privi in mine but have since acquired a set of dies so I am going to start reloading that next.
