1st Ever TGO Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest!!!
molonlabetn replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
What are you saying? That I don't have the ninjatastic powers to print a smiley-face on a pumpkin at 200yd with a pistol? Ya' know what else? I'm gonna have my pumpkin Duracoated black, and mount a Surefire light inside for the illumination... just to further prove how tactisexy I am! -
Holster and belt choice is what it will come down to, as long as your outer layer isn't skin tight, you'll be fine... truthfully, most people don't even register a minor, oddly shaped bulge on the waist.

1st Ever TGO Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest!!!

INSOLENCE!!! It must stop! The omnipotent Tungsten has spoken! From now on all dealings with pumpkins, '1st Annual' is now the TGO standard term for any inaugural event... However, the term 'Inaugural' will be reserved for any initial events involving the mutilation of all other types of fruit, squash, or vegetables... excepting pumpkins. So, you see... when the rules do not suit us, we change the rules! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Man, I'm seriously in a wierd mood today... -
...and those are just the ones who can read and spell! (or maybe they just know somebody who can, and made the t-shirts for them). Ya know... if they made voting an essay format (write or type your preferred candidates' name and give a short reason why you support them), instead of freakin' multiple choice, we'd at least have more chance of a bare minimum of intelligence getting into the booths. It's just like the blight of our public schools... multiple choice, true-false. Nobody really thinks about the choices they make anymore, it's all just regurgitation of patterns which have been impressed upon their minds. Rant off...

I think I went to the movies.

If carry isn't the priority, then a Kel-Tec or LCP is not even close to the best option.

1st Ever TGO Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest!!!

I figure some 147gr flat-point FMJ will cut fairly even holes, and from 3 yards or so, ought to be able to accurately punch out a recognizeable design... If all else fails, I'll try .38 wadcutters. -
Sounds like a J-frame in the pocket might be for you... But, as a man who likewise has an overpowering sexual aura which would be a waste to hide, I've found through trial and error that it's entirely possible to hide a very large gun in some inconspicuous places... even while carrying a pistol The secret is a low-riding IWB holster at 5 o'clock, with alot of cant. Carried a full-size 1911 this way for a long time, with jeans and rather form-fitting shirts.

I'm going to carve mine with a 9mm. -
Tell him to look used... perhaps a Sig P225. They have withstood the test of time, and are super-affordable. Not the smallest or the lightest, of course, but certainly reliable, and chambered in the more potent 9mm (which is actually cheaper to shoot than .380 and often .38spl).

I've had 2 Subcompact XD-9s... The one I still have is my primary CCW. Great little pistols.
-
Cheez-its and whiskey.

I've owned several XDs. An XD-45, an XD-357, and three XD-9s. I'm a big fan. I installed and tuned a Springer Precision trigger bar, spring, and sear kit in my XD-9 Tactical. It was really easy, and made a huge difference. My next pistol purchase is going to be one of the new XD-Ms in 9mm.

Thank you for posting this! I'd be interested to see if the spread is noticeably wider from a short-barreled shotgun at the same distance. I would expect not much, with an equivalent choke anyways. I know that my 20" FN SLP prints pie-plate-sized patterns even out to 25yd with the Federal 00 and Improved Cylinder choke. I'll take some pictures next time I get it out... perhaps this could become a 'post your choice HD load and gun pattern' thread, at 15'? This is a good read, as well: http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot20.htm

With the short bbl... you might experience more bullet drop at 200yd, at least that's my guess. Might end up being a 50/175 or 50/150 zero.

http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx Pretty cool gas map... you can zoom down to street level and see individual stations' prices for the past 48hrs.

Wish it would have been that cheap when I drove to Kingsport and back last weekend... Woulda saved about $10. Last time I filled up in Tullahoma it was still like $3.64, but that was Tuesday. Haven't checked recently.

Wait a minute... ya' mean used Glocks aren't worth $500? ...oh the humanity!!! Hehe, some folks are impossible to reason with. Good riddance.

I've never seen any verbiage which would indicate that having a loaded weapon in one's hotel room is illegal, so long as it was transported to and from there in a secured manner (unloaded).

Don't forget the Truck NutZ. Seriously though, that looks pretty sweet, on top of what's already done. After riding in it and driving it a month ago, I've had a hankering for a truck again.

I had a dream that I was fighting zombies with a Glock the other night... Woke up in a ditch, screaming, with 'get off the x' tattooed all over my body. Damn tequila.

I try to avoid carrying fat people whenever possible... Humor aside, If you're stuck on IWB carry, and stuck on your choice of firearm, the best option would be to wear a tucked in undershirt between you and the gun/holster, and experiment with where you position them... you may find a sweet spot which is most comfortable for the sitting position. I personally prefer 3:30-4 o'clock, since that is out of the way of my middle, and not jabbing the grip in my back when sitting. Same thing for OWB carry, really, just a bit more forgiving. If possible, definetly consider finding a different model pistol to carry.

Possession of handgun while under the influence
molonlabetn replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
This is assuming that there was some reason for the officer to ever see the driver's license of a person who was not driving... Or any reason for the question about weapons to be answered directly. But, assuming that one chose to go along with that, I don't see any reason why one wouldn't be just as content to go along with the rest of the system. I don't think the charge would stand though, mainly because the sober driver could also be just as easily the one in possession of the firearm, even if she has no permit the gun is properly stowed. Wouldn't necessarily stop them from running you through the mill because they can, though (the innocent have nothing to fear, my @$$).
