Just received this morning. Oct 1943 production Springfield Armory. Muzzle reading of 1+. Throat Reading of 2+. Wood is certainly not new, but I'm not an expert to know if it's original. A few pictures below

They manufacture both; FDE was new a year or so ago and they brought back OD shortly thereafter.  Neither are as widespread as black, but they're out there.

I'll follow Dadams' comment again with recommending Ron Brown. I shoot in High Power competitions where slings are used in sitting and prone. I started off with a Turner sling but found it was spongey and more pliable than I wanted. Ron's slings are sturdy and thick, providing a tight lockdown when in position. I realize my purposes may differ from others, but there's my experience, FWIW.

Ron makes top notch slings, great choice.

Saw the movie last night, at a screening. I had no frame of reference for this story but I left with a great appreciation of him, his unit and all servicemen and servicewomen who are committed to the task and do not often get to tell their story. I hope to read the book soon.
