  1. LOL missed that. Wow I know what's on my Xmas list this year!!!!
  2. Well are you getting into it to for "practicality" or for "physical activity"? Tai Chi is a great form exercise. Krav Maga is just the Israeli military's way of kicking butt.
  3. I love how people like this never think things through. As in, what happens if they refuse his offer? I just keep hoping they show someone near me. I won't steal their stuff, I will secure it from the looters
  4. Well sounds like you needed to, and that this particular apple rolled far from the tree. Also sounds like you did all you could. Family comes first, but YOUR family comes before anyone else, including blood. Nothing but respect coming from me on this subject.
  5. Jonnin: Glad to hear nothing was missing and no one was hurt. @Dolomite sorry to hear that. Will hope he wises up one day soon or just disappears before someone gets hurt.
  6. I take it none of the stores in question would order it for you?
  7. His house had just been burglarized, and he sees a guy crawling out a neighbor's window. Seems likely the two are connected, and since burglars have been known to kill witnesses, I think fear is reasonable in this case. I know I would be in fear in those circumstances, at least in a legal sense.
  8. Sounds like in this case it convinced the BG that the homeowner was serious. He stopped fleeing didn't he? Also, not tracking the logic that a warning shot shows you aren't afraid? From reading the story he wanted to stop the BG and yet was worried he couldn't handle the guy physically. Take this for example...a guy built like a linebacker and armed with a bat is getting out of his vehicle saying he is going to kill me. Are you saying that if I fired into the ground and then shot him when he continued to advance that I should be found guilty of murder? Bear in mind I am north of 40 and built like the IT/computer geek that I am. Seems to me that one should take any and all REASONABLE options prior to the use of deadly force. if a warning defused the situation, isn't that preferable? Note I said reasonable, if he was 10 feet from me and charging that is different.
  9. Sure it is. Its the part where all powers not given to the govt are reserved for the people. Then we allowed the "general welfare" section to be used to reduce the need for you to think when choosing a barber or a mechanic. FTR, I am a highly irked Libertarian, so YMMV when it comes to interpreting the Constitution
  10. Yea some good news finally Yea, shows off my age somewhat though. Goes back to IRC, and you could only have 9 characters in your handle....
  11. Well he is young....I know I wasn't exactly smooth at that age. Not that I am now either, as the wife never fails to remind me
  12. Ain't that the truth!! Sorry, some geek humor there. **EDIT** Just read the first entry, and looks good so far. Thanks for the link
  13. Probably part of why he needs protection
  14. Same guy did the sound effects as set Rick's revolver up to rotate the cylinder maybe? But I though he used a speed loader and was just grabbing the couple good rounds. And I agree with Murgatroy on Glenn. Normal guy who has no problem with zombies, but shooting people is not in his comfort zone. @Batman I think you missed the point. He froze because he was worried about her if he died. So now he worries he will get someone killed. So he's questioning whether a relationship with her is worth that risk.
  15. In my case, my big thing right now is finding one that will fit the gun. Preferably a inexpensive holster, as the gun is going to be replaced when feasible with a real one, and I won't be able to carry much at my current situation at work. Again it's a Bryco Model 59 by Jennings Firearms if anyone has any advice....
  16. No really, tell me what you think. Message received and understood. Thanks. Since nothing respectable comes up when I search for Bryco 59, anyone know what it's similar enough to so that I can start my holster collection? Since that seems to be the path I am starting down....
  17. Anyone have experience with this? I know it's probably a PoS but then again the gun is one too. But it's what I have for now. All I'm looking for is something to use once I get my permit on the rare occasions I will be able to carry. Work for the city govt. so even the parking lots are off limits.
  18. I support your right to think this way, but don't expect me to be happy when you advocate taking away my rights. As to respecting your views, no I don't and based on my beliefs about why you think that way, I won't respect your views. Also, #4? Seriously? What exactly is 911 going to do? Listen to your description of the guy killing you? If the crime doesn't meet the standards of self-defense, then there is no point in discussing it here. If you see some kids vandalizing a car, then yea call 911. Whether or not you have a gun is moot as you can't use it in that situation. If you see someone being murdered, then it becomes an issue.
  19. They mentioned that it had few people and lots of guns so the hope was that it might be a safe area.
  20. I like the way you think!!
  21. Original link leads to a page saying the article is no longer available?
  22. Registered and vote every time. Some of the time I have to hold my nose as I select someone, but I would rather have the Lesser rather than the Greater of the two Evils in office. *edit** PS: Also my son is only 7, so we need to hold off on the revolution till he's old enough to participate fully
  23. Brings up an interesting question. Report him or not? Staying away from the friend angle, on one hand we all pretty much agree it shouldn't be illegal, on the other it is and as law-abiding citizens one of our duties is to report criminal behavior.
  24. I don't recall any either. Be hard to tell just from a zombie though, as they could have gotten the wound post-mortem. Would almost have to see it happen.
  25. Never heard of this. Will have to ask around.
