I don't get it.. Is this a southern thing?
-
Nope, my gun was sterilized and generously lubed. After about 10 rounds I was bustin out the cleaning rod. It was VERY stuck. The second time I cycled the bolt carrier and it actually yanked it out all by itself. After about 60 rounds I took it home and I have NEVER seen my gun so dirty. It took forever to get a clean patch out of the muzzle. Any ideas on how to get the Tula working reliably in my AR? I'd love to shoot cheap ammo for practice. Ramming cases with my cleaning rod kind of takes the fun out of it and its kind of embarassing having a gun that jams every five seconds. I'm quite sure it looks like I'm loading a musket and people might think I'm retarded. I don't want to end up in the looney bin wearing a robe talking about George Washington and the Battle of Saratoga. Darn red coats!

lmao

Yikes, I guess I need to get my Colt checked out by a gunsmith. That or it was ####ty ammo. I'm feeling lazy.

Wow, a lot of you don't like to get f'ed with when you're at the computer, huh? =P

I saw this on another forum and I thought this would be interesting to ask on a gun forum. As I sit here, I have my CZ-75 D PCR, two pocket knives (merely coincidence), coffee mug, 12" ruler, and a loaded AR-15 mag but not the gun (lets call it an impact tool ). Everybody...... EVERYBODY should at LEAST have something they could improvise as an impact tool! Keyboard.... mouse....anything?..... MONITOR?!

Love the fun button.. It's about all its useful for, too.

Hiking/Camping Fixed Blade <$40 - Ideas?
MiddTennTaco replied to MiddTennTaco's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Does anyone have any experience with the Ontario Tak-1? Looks like a sweet blade. I guess I'm looking at more expensive blades now... I really don't think I want the Kabar Becker BK2 anymore. It's a compact axe. I don't need that. -
Too bad Tula sucks. I got over a thousand rounds through my AR-15 and the moment I decided to use some Tula, the fired case got stuck in the chamber. Had to ram it out with a cleaning rod. That stuff is crap. NEVER had a malfunction before... ever.

Crap! And naturally I'm practically out of practice .223

Hiking/Camping Fixed Blade <$40 - Ideas?
MiddTennTaco replied to MiddTennTaco's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I appreciate everyone's opinions. This decision is really hard for me for some reason. Right now I am trying to decide between that Condor Rodan and the Kabar BK2. I am leaning towards the Rodan because not only is it in my price range but the BK2 seems more like a camp axe as opposed to a knife. HOWEVER, I really don't like the sheath that it comes with. The BK2 at least comes with a kydex sheath instead of the ~leather storage tube~ the Rodan comes with. I feel like I'd stab myself if I fell on it hiking. If anyone wants to make me a free sheath, let me know. Gotta spend that extra money on a Lanksy sharpening system you know! (since I can't sharpen worth a $hit without a guide) -
Hiking/Camping Fixed Blade <$40 - Ideas?

I definitely saw that Kabar Becker BK2! It's pretty much perfect except for the price tag. If I'm going to spend that much money though I might as well spend $20 more and get one of those infamous RAT 5's! I'm kind of wondering though with how thick and fat these blades are does it make it harder to poke holes in... things... vicous animals..? lol That being said, maybe I would be better of with a fighting Ka-Bar although it may not hold up as well. I don't know... It's okay, that's what I have a gun for I guess. And by the way, the Trail Blazer is a camp saw, not a machete. -
Hey folks, my girlfriend and I have recently picked up a new hobby of back country camping. We have enjoyed it very much and plan on doing it again soon with her niece. Anyway I am looking for a good sturdy blade that I can beat the crap out of without worrying too much about for around and preferably less than $40. Right now I have a SOG Seal Pup which I find to be quite too nice for the current application and will be selling/downgrading hopefully for something more practical. Again, the use is hiking/camping. I don't necessarily need something to chop up wood as I have a 18" Trail Blazer on the way. I definitely want something that is tough - preferably a high carbon blade and not 440 if possible. I will probably using it for cutting up tinder and/or carving - things of that nature. It doesn't have to be pretty. I fully plan on abusing it therefore cheap is preferred. Sheath required - as long as it works. ABSOLUTELY want a full tang blade. Right now I am looking at the Cold Steel Bushman SK-5 7" and Condor Tools Varan 8". I don't really like the finger guard on either of them but it is what it is. Bushman ($21): http://www.amazon.co...1705375&sr=1-42 Varan ($30): http://www.amazon.co...ref=pd_sbs_sg_5

Why are they so expensive? The department I worked for had tons of these old ones in full auto. They were for training recruits only. We treated them like crap and didn't even clean them, lol.
-
LMFAO!
-
I suppose you could say that the 5906 was my first gun although it wasn't really mine (department issued). I'd say I put some 5,000+++ rnds down range in one of these and let me tell you.. It has to be one of the best 9mm's of all time. The thing is TOUGH, RELIABLE, COMFORTABLE, and ACCURATE. I love the triggers on them and of course the DA/SA mode. I can say with absolute certainty that for the money, it can not be beat. Let me warn you though: it's old, its heavy, and it's very fat. It is for those reasons that I now carry a CZ 75 Compact. Same attributes, less bulky.

Good Three Point Sling
MiddTennTaco replied to MiddTennTaco's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Nevermind, the company that makes the sling is still in business. Well, I'm open to recommendations! -
Can anyone suggest a good three point sling for around $30? I would get a single point sling but I have a colt rifle so the plate is staked and I don't want to modify it. Don't want to spend extra money on one of those clamp on pieces for the buffer tube either. The rifle is a monolithic Colt 6940 which has the QD sling point on the forward most part of the rail like this: And I have a Magpul CTR stock which has a couple of mounting options including a QD point as well: I'd love to have this sling but apparently this company went out of business:

10 rnd handgun limits aint that big of a deal --- Besides, it has the 5th lowest crime in the nation Don't have to worry about volcanic activity --- Only one island has any volcanic activity at all and its fun to go see Couple hours warning for tsunamis, several weeks warning for hurricanes --- We've been hit by the worst and we've made it just fine Only thing that's really "more expensive" is property/rent --- Significantly better pay across the board to compensate for higher cost of living It's what you pay for living in paradise! I guarantee you will have a blast and you will never want to leave!
