1. That's interesting. Figured that .gov agencies could just put in an order for whatever type of rifle or submachine gun they wanted.
2. They come in sleeves at that point. Kinda cool actually.
3. Seems random for a .gov agency to be ordering one or several.
4. Direct from Surefire is just about the cheapest place to get them.  Couple other sites have them for maybe about 75 cents less or so.  Panasonic makes Surefire's batteries IIRC.  Ordered about 800 of them last year and the sleeves were labeled Panasonic.
5. I just posted that picture because I thought it was funny. Lumberjack explained it.
6.
7. Aim has had these a while.  I posted a thread about it a while back.  I'm really tempted by this one.
8. Leather is the way to go IMO. However I'm biased.
9. It's off of Rifle Range Road in Halls.  Right over the big hill after you get through Fountain City.   Or just listen for the sound of National Guard fire on the first weekend of the month.
10. Darn, here I was thinking people would want to shoot my custom built guns.  They won't blow up in your face, I promise. Only had that happen once, no one was hurt lol.
11. This one came out of Israel supposedly.
12. Rapid fire at about 10-12 yards shooting Geco ammo. I'm pleased with it.
13. One of those little Datsun or whatever truck things that's the size of a Mini Cooper lol.
14. I came home with this one the other day. I'm taking it out tonight to see how it shoots. Model 71 with a threaded barrel. (Bottom one, top is my M9)
15. They had some bad ammo that they sent the .gov a couple years back I believe on a contract of some sort. If I'm remembering it was really out of spec and wouldn't function well or at all.  There have also been people who complain about orders not getting shipped. I've never ordered from them so I can't say from personal experience, just throwing out what I've heard.
16. Man, I never even get an onion ring in my French Fry order.  How do these guys end up with awesome buys like this?
17. I was out of town this weekend for a shooting competition so I decided to stop in one of the local gun stores where I was. Found this Beretta Model 71 in the case and said that's coming home with me. It's a .22 LR with a threaded barrel for a suppressor. I'm thinking it's from somewhere in the 70's but I haven't tried to find a serial number listing to pin point the exact date. There is some holster wear and handling wear on it but it seems to function well when I manually cycle it. It has a nice trigger with almost no take up. Can't wait to take this one out and see how it shoots. You can really see the creativity of the Beretta designers between their models. Guess it's not as bad as Glock though. To anyone wondering, the suppressor is a faux one. It's been permanently attached via set screw and plug weld. Why? I have no clue but that's just how it is.
18. Some of us make sheaths, just saying.
19. That turned out really well, wow.  Now I want one.
20. Is it an ambi mag release off of something like a Sig AR?
21. I'm going to go with a Walther or similar style that has one of the cocked indicators of the little red button that pops out, that went missing or was knocked out along with the firing pin.
22. Been there, done that.
23. Also something I just thought about.  If possible, and if you have a holster where you are folding the same piece over like a flap, you might want to stitch a couple places to help keep the liner lined up with the punched holes.  I've had the issue before of gluing it, letting it set, and then folding it over and messing up the alignment of the holes due to a small amount of stretch.   Another point of interest is to make sure you get pigskin that has the plastic treatment over the normal way of tanning splits.  Supposedly they chrome tan the suede versus veggie tan other leathers and I try to avoid chrome tan due to the salts in it.  They say it doesn't play well with firearm finishes but it's not something I've seen first hand or experimented with.
24. I glue the liner down first before going through and doing the punching and stitching.
