  1. Defiantly one of the best targets to get a kid interested in shooting. I set out a shooting bench with a front rest & a rear sandbag with my Savage .243, I don't think they can miss them at 100yrds.    When we get done it looks like we have been slaughtering aliens. Green parts & whiteliquid dripping from all the trees.
  2. I have only named 1 of mine. I call my 1895 Marlin in 45-70 "Tank"
  3. My plans tomorrow exactly. Cant decide if I wanna carry my 39A for a couple Tree rats or the beagles to see if they will strike a rabbit.
  4. Well at least ya have land to hunt.
  5. Well you practically already have one! Good job :)
  6. Not too good. Damn birds were not flying on my side of the field. My boy got a few though.
  7. Well They were my reloads does that count? :)
  8. Na I spent my time unloading in the dove field! :)

    Ruger 77/357

^^^^^^ Agreed^^^^^^ Mine is my favorite gun! MR Musicman What load do you shoot? If you would PM Me so we don't hijack! :)
  10. His wife is a friend of mine. I have seen a little of his work & it looks great. No I have not had one done myself. He does a lot of tour bus dashes that look awesome. He has done plenty of rifle stocks also.
  11. Check Him Out. He is in Murfreesboro.   http://www.tnliquidimaging.com/
  12. I perfomed this task a couple years ago. It looks awesome. My barrel was a factory Ruger SS sporter that was pretty well polished but could still see marks in it.. Therefore after bringing mine to a mirror shine on a cloth wheel on a bench grinder with some fine rouge, I went ofer it slightly with some fine steel wool to make it match the barrel.  I think it looked awesome. After the steel wool I sprayed it with a clear coat so it wouldn't tarnish.   I sold it to a great member on here & I wonder if he still has it. :) It was a great shooter.
  13. I'm in for 2 lowers. if consecutive numbers are avalible I would like them matching if not o well :)   Interested in 2 uppers also depending on the price.
  14. He will be playing a free concert in Lewisburg.   http://www.goatsmusicandmore.com/
  15. Used to go numerous times a year. I always used gigs any type of gun took the fun out of it for me.   Walking ponds, wading creeks, & floating rivers. I have a 10' flatbottom I got just for it.
  16. Another thing to look for on a Remlin is make sure the barrel is not canted to either side. It was one of the earlier problems that were found quite a bit.   :) Anyway funny how this has turned into a gripe session about a Remlin (though people should know what to look for). I do have both, actually have 5 that are JM stamped & 1 Remlin. As far as fit & function I cant tell the difference.   Glockster157 maybe one day I will find the JB 45 Colt as you have. Good snag.
  17. Actually I read all I could of it & yes they got my "eyeballs" on it too. Does that change what I posted?
  18. All I can say about it is ya know what to expect anytime ya see her! If ya don't like it then don't watch it. If ya don't want the kids to see change the station.   She sure as hell makes more money than I do, that's for sure!!   She accomplished exactly what she was looking to do, have everybody talking about her today.
  19. True, True most Marlin microgroove barrels have a slightly larger bore than Ballard rifling.   Chances are you would be better off with a .430 or .431 boolit.   A .429 should shoot but with the correct size you will have better accuracy with less fouling.
  20. I got a Remlin in 45-70 a year or so ago. The fit & finish are great on mine & it shoots like a dream. I call her the tank!   I did have one problem with it from the factory. Out of the box it had no tang screw to hold on the stock!! :stunned:
  21. Me personally I will take the Marlin over the Winchester. :) The 1894's are great little rifles. I finally scored one in 357 mag a couple weeks ago.
