  1. Ok, so not EVERYONE, but Remington, Bushmaster, Rock River Arms, and Magpul Industries based on alleged infingement of their patent (Multi-caliber ambidextrously controllable firearm #7,596,900) issued 6 October, 2009 and initially filed in August of 2003. Stifling innovation through lawsuits, THAT'S the American way. More @ TFB: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2010/01/18/robinson-arms-sues-remington-magpul-and-others/#comments
  2. To hear somebody from Knoxville say that excites the piss out of me During my short stay at UT, I was nauseated by all Indy fandom there.

    +eleventy billion. My thoughts exactly.
  5. The troy rear will mount behind your optic, so you can effectively have an iron sight, and an optic mounted at the same time. If the optic fails, your back up is already mounted and zeroed. With the carry handle, you'll have to remove the optic, mount the handle, and hope it's zeroed. ETA: Gotta love a middy!

    Lakeside Mini-1919

No that you mention it, I think the mini-Gatling is where I've heard their name before. Also, good to see you back gcrook. Hope life is finding you well.
  7. Between what you gain in a reliable BCG and the Troy rear, $80 is completely reasonable.
  8. Take note that the BCG of the M&P is more throughly tested, and is shot peened. Although staking is an easy fix, the M&P will be properly staked out of the box. Also, the S&W ships w/ the Troy rear sight, which will do you a lot more good than that carry handle if you're going to be running optics. Also, consider what exactly a warranty is good for. Personally, I'd rather have a superior BCG than a lifetime warranty on an inferior one. I'm not knocking Stag at all. I've got an AR w/ CMT (they manufacture Stag) parts, and I haven't had any issues. I simply think the M&P is a better buy.
  9. Stumbled across this on Sturmgewehr. I had never seen one of the before, but it looks awesome! WTS: Lakeside/Tippmann mini-1919 $3175 shipped It's a mini 1919 built by Lakeside Machine after purchasing the design from Tippman.
  10. Personally, I'd go w/ the M&P. They're one of the best deals running in a quality off the shelf rifle at the moment, and S&W seems to get a lot of praise over their customer service. Here's a chart of major AR brands put together by m4carbine.net member rob_s: M4 CHART Scroll down and you can directly compare features and production methods between the Stag and M&P.
  11. You can borrow Jeff's Vol. 2 if I can borrow your Vol. 1. My thread, my rules.
  12. Yeah, I think I'll wait a while until supply catches up w/ demand and I can pick one up at a decent price. I'll also be interested to see if there are any issues w/ the first batch.

    Late night TV

I think regardless of what anyone thinks of Conan's humor, that he deserves to get what he was promised. I also respect him for supporting the tradition of The Tonight Show in it's current time slot, and respect him even more for refusing to screw Falon into an even later time slot. Personally, I've always liked Conan, and found Leno to be a cheesy comic who only makes safe and easy jokes. When Carson went off air, it took the viewers a while to acclimate to Leno as well. NBC owes a little more time to Conan, at the least.
  14. It will be mine... oh yes, it WILL be mine.
  15. Magpul Dynamics is releasing 2 new DVDs to join the already released "Art of the Tactical Carbine" series. First is the widely appealing "Art of the Dynamic Handgun", second would be the more narrowly focused "Aerial Platform Operations".
  16. I voted "Cool Guy Tan". I'm not much of a fan of the OD, and for some reason the black looks weird to me...
  17. Hey, if Kiffin needs to leave, let him leave... ...but can his wife stay? Please?
  18. If you pay the $30 or so dollars for me to be insta-ordained as a minister through any of several online venues, I'll do it
  19. My thoughts exactly... In other recent news, dairy farmers support ice cream consumption. ETA: Not sure how serious I can take Ignatius Piazza... I hear he goes to church with Tom Cruise.
