I wouldn't say they are entirely worthless. Creating a legal record of a situation like this early on can be helpful in case the situation escalates further.

The M4 feed ramps are longer and supposed to provide more reliable feeding w/ the shorter gas system. I think they are generally pretty unnecessary for a semi... The T-marks are printed on the top of the upper... I presume for placing optics, but I'm still pretty green to EBRs myself!

If you go w/ the Carbine length gas system, get the flat top w/ M4 feed ramps, although you probably won't need them, I'd get them anyway. If you go with the midlength, get the flat top w/ t-marks.

Which barrel are you going with?

The 16" barrel and collapsible stock are "handier", but there's really something about a 20" AR w/ an A2 stock that I really like... if I get around to building my next AR, it'll be an M16A4gery.
