  1. Welcome back!  I wouldn't leave TN for anything, but I do like that Molsen XXX beer they have up in Hockey.
  2. I got a really bad BCG from them once.  It was a blem, BUT the finish made it look like rough cast iron.  I sent them an email and I had a new one within a week.

Ahh...so useless, then.   So, how would one put an RDS on these?  Are the rails that top the gas tube solid?

Are the railed top covers solid?  I would think they would be a bit wobbly.
  5.   Wow...I must have glazed over the first line thinking it further down.
  6. Was he the guy with Coffin Arms a couple years ago?
  7. Anyone tried one of these yet?   It looks like there is a thread protector on it, but I don't see anything in the description about threading.   http://www.cdnnsports.com/rugerr-americanr-ranch-300-blackout-fde.html#.VW8R38_wnii

They had one at the NRA Convention.  The girl holding it was so pretty I didn't notice it, though.
  9.   Oh yeah, as soon as I dry fired an LC9s I sold my LC9 and picked up the s.  If the Glock 43 had a trigger like the LC9s, I would be really tempted even losing a round of capacity.  But I can't pay an extra $150 for losing a round AND a major step down in trigger performance.   Not knocking the G43.  If it gets good people to be armed more often then not, I am all for it.  I was just disappointed that it wasn't a good replacement for the Ruger.  The Ruger IS ugly.
  10.   I went 5.5 inches so that with my suppressor it is still REALLY short.  I also wanted to make sure 147gr ammo stayed subsonic, which may not have been an issue even at longer length, but in cold weather, another couple of inches could put me trans-sonic.  If you don't care about suppression, and instead want to get as much ooomph as you can out of a load, then I suspect 8 to 10 inches would be a pretty sweet spot.  Most 9mm loads don't tend to pick up much steam after about 10.     If you are running 115gr +P ammo, 8 to 10 inches should get you somewhere around 1450 fps.
  11.   +1 on the Gerber Legend.  They are an older design, but Have everything I need.
  12. Winchester E-Tips, which are solid copper, will blow right through an AR-500 plate at 100 yards when fired from a 300 Win Mag.  A lead core bullet fired from the same gun will not.
  13. Anyone know what state that was in?  The parties involved seemed to be speaking Alabami.
  14.   I sure like my 7+1 Ruger.
  15. To all those afraid of the bet, come on.  It's worth $100 to make the friend eat crow.  If he DOES hit the target, maybe you have a new shootin' buddy.  Maybe his wife finds out and is so impressed she decides to start shooting too.   You at least get a memorable day at the range!  $100 is not a small amount, but its worth it in this case!
  16. living in America during its ascendancy rather than its decline.
  17. Well done.  Its a shame you had to do anything just to be on your way.  These were Uruk-hai...able to travel by daylight and beyond their traditional borders.

    PSA 9mm AR

For what its worth, it won't help the buffer get heavier reducing smoke, but if you want to play with the standard buffer and save the beating the Bolt Hold takes, the fix costs $1.25, and is completely refundable when you're done.     You can drop 5 quarters into the buffer tube, then place the spring and (STANDARD) buffer in as normal.     That pushes the whole assembly forward enough so that you don't get "slap" on the Bolt Hold Open when it engages.   You also use the 5 quarters in a SHTF situation if you need to.  Better yet, use Pre-64 silver quarters as they will have more value in a SHTF scenario.   Just don't forget to remove them if/when you ever move to the 9mm buffer or 5.56 BCG.  They are longer, and so the $1.25 will prevent the Bold Hold from ever engaging since the bolt won't be able to move rearward enough.  No harm would be done if you forgot, just the BHO wouldn't work.  I think it would still cycle.

    PSA 9mm AR

I have not used a palmetto 9mm specifically, but the mag block style run fine so long as the block is good quality.  I believe theirs are aluminum, so they should be gtg.  I have only ever used the kind that insert from the bottom of the magwell.  Theirs is the kind that goes in from the top.  I am not as crazy about those because you have to remove the bolt-hold to install/remove them, but I believe they are of sound design.
  20. Very nice!  Was that 168 grain?
  21. Here we go again.  Hopefully there is a good guy with a gun nearby.
  22. Their rail is really neat.  A touch on the heavy side, but seems really well made.  I don't know much about their barrels, but their BCG's seem to work fine.  I haven't abused one, but they appear to be well finished and staked.
  23. The Devil's Cross.  The Soviets had no counter for it in their planning for the Fulda Gap.  Maybe this was what Obama meant when he told Putin he would have more latitude following his re-election.
  24. Look, both the OP and the Hitler video were excellent.  I spat at my monitor in the Hitler rant when he said "For all we know, they're just releasing this six-round piece of shit until they can come out with an IMPROVED version that only holds four rounds."
