  1. Edit* just saw the post above. I think he was referring to Freaknik which has now become the Black College Spring Break, which from 93-96 gained a very bad reputation among residents, due in large part to violence. But, anytime you have a giant party of 250K people, bad things are bound to happen.
  2. I have a friend with an SR1911 and it is great. Feels great and shoots great. As far as Remington, I'm not a big fan of the brand anymore. A few years ago I had a couple bad guns, sent one back and it was still not functioning properly when it returned. I lost my faith in them...

    P228 vs M11-A1

I think I may go with the CPO and spend the extra on night sights and a few extra mags...
  5. My father is a doctor and though we haven't spoken in some time, he was bringing home flu shots yearly for the family.
  6. I would save the money until there is something you really want... Just because you have it doesn't mean you need to spend it right away.

    P228 vs M11-A1

I know the M11 is not a real 228, but it is pretty nice, there are a few CPO 228s on gunbroker and one of the new 228s that were just released... I guess in my head I want a 228, but I want a really nice one, so is the M11 worth the $1k price tag or should I spend $600 on a CPO? The M11 would look nice with my 226 Navy, and I like the internals being coated and the 15 round mags, but... It's not a 228. Such a dilemma.

    P228 vs M11-A1

I have decided I want a P228. I wish I could have gotten the batch that was recently released, but I haven't put all the funds together yet. So should I look for a LNIB P228 or wait for the M11-A1? http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/m11-a1.aspx
  9. I'm going to go out on a limb and say insurance purposes... Just a thought though.
  10. Nice... What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
  11. I'm in the same boat, but I think I want an M11-A1... I'm in no hurry, but I do have the 228 itch.
  12. There's a great piano bar down there, can't think of the name of it off the top of my head though...

    Vols-Gators

At least he only dislikes Auburn...
  14. I know you are required to carry valid proof of insurance, but a $75 dismissal fee?!?! In AL you just had to go to the station and show them a new card and that was it...
  15. I have a sig 522 with probably 4,000 plus rounds through it and it has been awesome. It's easy to clean, even though I only clean it about every 750-1000 rounds and shoots great. Ive had less than 10 failures which is due to the cheap 22 ammo I use. The M&P is nice, but is it really that much nicer than a 522? I dont think so.
  16. A nice P228 and an AR lower...
  17. Macallan.
  18. I use a shop down in GA for most of my purchases and they have some of the best prices I've seen. A shop in Murfreesboro wanted $200 more for the same gun...
  19. P226 P228 Hi Power
  20. Mind your gaps and off-sets. It's not hard, but can be frustrating.
  21. Both will be a great for the economy and hopefully bring in more business to the area...
  22. I'll be in Blountville visiting the family in a few weeks, is Dixie Outpost worth it?
  23. I don't necessarily hate Notre Dame, I just hate the fact that they get so much hype every year and for what? I don't know. I feel the same way about Oklahoma and Ohio State... I expect auburn to win 9 with a much improved defense and a lot more experience, but that's in the toughest conference. We are 25? I feel like that's where we belong right now. Oklahoma loses to Texas Tech and plays in a weak conference and still get ranked high every preseason...
  24. I think the hype and my expectations were the main factors in my disappointment. I ate excellent BBQ in Auburn for years, and that's what I became accustomed to and now it's hard for me to find great BBQ...
  25. I have to be honest, I was not impressed with Ridgewood at all.
