I won't get in to a religious argument online, as that leads to bad blood. But its not a myth, and to call it that is incredibly insulting to Christians who believe in it. It is a theory, just as evolution is a theory. Thats all I'll say on that, as I dont wanna lose friends on here. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I don't know how I feel about it. I mean the scum bag needs to die, Injust wish there was a way to stop it from turning him into a martry. Maybe hang him while he chokes on bacon, then bury him at sea stuffed in a pig carcass with the ceremony being performed by a Christian minster from a KJV bible. http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/aug/28/nidal-hasan-sentenced-death-military-jury/ Tapatalk ate my spelling.

A 1920's vintage model 12 12 gauge is my go to shotgun for just about everything. I use it on squirrel, rabbit, turkey, and for anything else, including dove. Its not a recoil monster, but it sure ain't the softest shooting gun I own. I normally run #6 high brass for everything but turkey. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Kinda. A hollow grind uses the wheel of the grind to hollow the metal out down to the edge. I dont have a belt grinder setup that will do that. I prefer flat grinds anyways for most knives. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I got out last year. It is becoming increasingly political. I wouldn't write off going back in, but anyone going in now needs to do alot of research and know exactly what they are doing. Besides, its a kinder, gentler Marine Corps and military now (as I was warned when I was thinking about going back in) Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Thanks for the reminder man. Every time I wake up grumpy over money, bills, whatever bullshit comes to mind, I remind myself I could be deployed again, away from home and family and dealing with God knows what. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Not until you said that. Could be the wifes new carry piece I guess.

Well that should raise some eyebrows. Engraved with ivory grips, and erotic scenes in silver. Nice..... Not $7500 worth of nice, but I'd be a buyer at like $500, just for the conversation piece

Ever reloaded something & it scared you?
Spots replied to Handsome Rob's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Don't be a little girl. Go light one off and then report back, if you can. Honestly though, if it made me nervous I would triple check my load data and maybe google to see if it was supposed to be that hard to reload. Then I'd go shoot one, just because thats the way I am.. -
Anybody practice drawing when buckled in your car?
Spots replied to KahrMan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I normally carry owb, so I added another holster in the truck. I slip it in that one and lay it in the pass. seat when I climb in. I need to add one to the ubderside of the dash instead. Tapatalk ate my spelling. -
Jesus that was a big chunk of steel. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
Ok, I want one....seriously. :D That's awesome. Will it hold an edge you think?
I hardened it in oil, then tempered at 400 degrees. A file skates off of it and my belt grinder definetly didn't like it. Id say its in the 54-56 rockwell range from what I know dealing with knives. It hardening in oil tells me its high carbon, and I know estwing uses tool steel for their hammers. New Gunshop in Hixson - 22LR $69 / brick
Spots replied to Paisan's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Do you have to provide your own lube or do they prefer going in dry? Tapatalk ate my spelling. -
A hawk is a nasty weapon when its used right, and they make good tools too. You should google them sometime, see some of the new styles guys have come up with recently. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I haven't been working this week, so I took some time today to make a breaching hawk for a buddy. This is made from a 24 oz eastwing claw hammer, convex ground blade, short spike with the rubber handle left on for comfort. The bladr is 2.5" wide, the head is 6" from end to end, and its 16" from top of the head to bottom of the handle. It was a fun project for sure. It was made with a smaller head and spike for speed. The long handle uses leverage to generate speed and power, instead of relying on head weight to make power which slows the hawk down and wears you out faster Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Its possible, but 98% of loggers and logging outfits won't look at anything under 10 acres, and especially if its already had someonencutting on it. Have you looked at renting a stump grinder and doing it yourself? Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Its just my preference. It also has to do with the leaves being mostly off, and I generally prefer cooler weather in general. And I sometimes slug hunt for deer. If deer ain't going so well I'll keep a few #6 high brass with me and can usually kill a decent mess of squirrel. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

Just looked them up, and saw the major differences. I definitely still prefer the ones we got issued in the Corps. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
-
Awww. See to me a full tang means the tang is as wide as the handle, and normally visible. A skinny tang is a hidden tang, and isn't as strong normally. And then there is partial tang, which doesn't run the full length of the handle and is glued or pinned in and sucks lol. I didnt realize the M9 was different, all Ive seen and used is the OKC we got issued, like the one you ordered, and just assumed the M9 was the Army designation for the same thing. My mistake. The Kabar is a good knife, and an icon. Hell I make customs and I still own a Kabar lol. To me a bayonet and a fighting/utility knife do 2 different things, and I'll take the extra weight of carrying both to have two better tools. If you ever wanna learn the basics on bayonets give me a holler. I was big into Mcmap, and have a heavy martial arts background. Id be happy to drag out my old book and go over Marine Corps bayonet techniques with ya. :D Of course if you already know them, don't take that as an insult, just an offer if you don't. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

We put some major hurt on the issued bayonets during MCMAP. The targets are "tire men" as in made from car tires. We would thrust, slash and cut with everything we had, with the leverage of a 20" barreled rifle, and I never saw one break, but you can break any knife (bayonet). I wish they would issue the bayonet and the Kabar. I like them both, but would prefer to have a dedicated knife and a dedicated bayonet, but I understand why they did it. Does anyone other than the Marines still issue and teach bayonet techniques? Tapatalk ate my spelling.
