    Glock 43

I own a 43 and have ran about 100 rounds of +P through it as thats what I intend on carrying once I get my HCP.  I'm extremely happy with it. I think it's heavily criticized as its late to the game, but coupled with the +2 baseplates, I think its ONE of the best options in the single stack 9mm carry realm.  I wouldn't hesitate to get one at all!
  2. I'm headed up that way soon too(living in JC and working in Greeneville)!  First full time job out of school.  Looking for a good range, and recommendation for a HCP class instructor.
  3. I've seen plenty of RMRs on shotguns.  While they aren't cheap by any means, they sure are tougher than nails and would make an awesome optic for shooting big ole toms!
  4. There are so many options!  Honestly, I would invest in the scope first.  Spending $200 on a scope for a precision rifle wouldn't be the best choice in my opinion (which is just that).  Personally, I'd look into a Vortex Viper HST 4-16.  Its an awesome scope you can find for anywhere from $500-600 and will serve you will as your rifle progresses.  Plus, better glass will give you a better idea as to how your rifle shoots stock.  Putting a $100 scope on a 700 isn't the greatest way to test accuracy.  I owned 2 700s and this was the case for me.  On one of them, I spent much more money on glass, and it turned out to shoot better than one that sat in a McMillan stock with a bull barrel with cheaper glass.  Just some food for thought.
  5. I'm anxious to give the new long slide 10mm Glock a try!  I've waited some time for them to make one!  Looks to be a great HD/Woods/Farm/Vehicle gun.
  6. If this passes, I will post a picture of my pet unicorn....
  7. Believe me!  I respectfully explained that AG opinions do not have the force of law, but there was no reasoning.  I even showed him the TCA codes and explained how it was not federally illegal for me to own one...  I tried to explain that for over 30 minutes with no joy from the LEO.  He called his Sherrif buddies to "check the law"...     OS - I went back and checked and like you found nothing good.  He actually showed me on his in-car computer and there was some form of legal document.  I am wondering if it was some internal directive from a state attorney.
  8. Guys, just thought I would post up a recent encounter I had with an LEO in east TN. IM UNDER 21, and lawfully own handguns. Needless to stay I was stopped for a moving violation and the fact I had a handgun in the car came to light. I will post the full story later, but I was detained for 45 minutes, and later released after a long discussion of the law. The LEO shows me an opinion from the TN Attorney General that stated "in his opinion" a person under 21 could not carry a handgun in their vehicle but COULD carry long guns. Just be aware, that opinion is out there and dated October 2014. I plan on writing the AG to get him to hopefully retract his opinion.
  9. Guys, I am 100% in support of the idea of a TGO youtube channel.  However, what I am going to say may be met with some strong feelings.  Like others have said above, I personally feel that the channel should avoid the how to videos such as "How to Build an AR" or "How to Disassemble a Glock 17".  These subjects have been hammered into the ground in youtube.  I think that the channel would be better served as an outlet to TN specific firearms issues/events.  Now I am not saying don't post reviews of anything, but personally I would suggest spending the time and energy to "Review a Glock 17" and the like.  Oh well, that was just my  :2cents:.  Take it for what it's worth.
  10. If they are within $100 of each other, go get the SBE.  To me, its like buying a used car thats $500 less than a new one.  I love my Benelli, and I just couldn't justify buying the Franchi at $100 less.  Now don't get me wrong, Im not saying Franchi's are bad guns, for their sometimes $600 price, you can't beat them for a duck gun that gets thrown around in the boat, but for $100 - no questions, buy the Benelli.
  11. I have a Braven BRV-X, and hands down it blows the Bose out of the water.  Sound quality and volume is incredible, its extremely durable, and waterproof.  It does play music for 10hrs like the battery says too!  I wouldn't hesitate to buy another!
  12.   Many other sections of TN Statutory law already do.  That was the "supposedly" the rationale behind the permits car carry bill that was introduced and passed last legislative session.
  13. Randy, I know it's somewhat off topic - but a while back you did a vehicle gunfighting class.  Will this be back around any time soon?  I'd love to take it!
  14. Ooltewah is Great.  Lived there for two years and loved it.  Close to Walmart (groceries, etc.), bi-lo, etc. within 5 minutes, and anything you could ever want within 10-15 at Hamilton Place.  There/Apison/Ringgold will be the next place I find a place!  From what I have heard, schools in the area are not bad (compared to most other TN public schools)!
  15. That civil engineering poster would've been a riot to take to my Surveying class last semester! The teacher would've loved it too!
