  1. If I'm going to get a .380 Glock , I would rather have the 25 or 28 because I know they have been out for quite a while and have no "growing pains" to get through and bugs to work out. Plus Glock's blow back system is kinda neat to look at .
  2. I would buy this for sure when I get the money . I love the slimmer slide and all. To me it is way more practical than a S&W Shield sized G42 in .380 .  I am presently getting my reloading equiptment but after that , maybe the G41 for sure after I handle it
  3. I just compared the measurements from my shield to the G42 measurements listed in the video. There is only VERY  little difference in size from it to the Shield. I say if you have a 9mm Shield then there is no reason to get this 42 unless you just want to get it. I'm keeping my 9mm Shield. I am a die-hard Glock guy but I still can't believe Glock went with .380 . Unreal.

    Remington R-51

I agree 100% . You can't always grip the gun "correctly" and the only button I need to worry about it is the trigger.
  5. I am currently inflicted with two viruses of the lever-actionitis . These two viruses are a strain from Marlin from 1954 and 1963 . I just can't seem to shake them and I don't want a cure either

    Glock 42

Yep . Here lately I have saw more and more things that are negative. I saw rust on a Gen 3 of mine that was only 2 yrs  old . I also have saw rust on other people's Glocks too. All newer guns. Then the G36 had it's problems. And the Gen 4's had it's growing pains too. I am a huge Glock fan but I have found that Genrations 1,2, and 3  on up to around the year 2010 have been the best and most trouble free. That is my experience and my $.02 . I am NOT  one of those guys who , for example , has so much pride that they would rather "push a Dodge up a hill than drive a Toyota" .   I am also a huge die-hard fan of CZ . I once bought their new CZ P-07 pistol when it first came out. It failed by not going into battery all the time , the frame was flexing so bad that it was "bowing" outward , the magazine would not release properly , and the trigger would not reset itself all the time. CZ sent me a new pistol to replace the first one.  From this experience I learned to wait until a product has been out for a year or two to get the bugs out. WIth this new Glock 42 I almost decided to get one as soon as  Glock releases them but I remembered about the CZ P-07. I think I'll wait a year
  7. I saw a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire scope in 4X32 . Here is the link . What do you guys think ? It is $109 at my local gun shop.  http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/Nikon-Products/Riflescopes/6718/PROSTAFF-4x32-Rimfire-Matte-Nikoplex.html

    Glock 42

Well the other day I tried a new S&W M&P 9mm full size and WOW . The trigger was not gritty like the older ones were and the reset is now  almost like a Glock   The whole gun was awesome. So I took my "Glock 42" money and bought the M&P 9 . S&W has come a long way on these pistols I think.  I really wanted a Glock 42 if it was going to be a 9mm but all that went out the door after trying the S&W trigger. I figure that my Glock 26 and 19 is as small as I need a Glock to be PLUS they are tried and true and been around a long time. Who knows ,  the new Glock 42 could  have bugs and  problems and  how long they will it take to surface.
  9. Cool information guys . I have never shot my Marlin since I bought it so I may try it today with iron sights and see what happens. It may surprise me . I think the furthest I'd be shooting at squrrils if I do get a scope will be around 100-150 feet .
  10.   Glock 30 all the way . It seems to shoot almost better than a Glock 9mm and almost as easier . Lots of people will say this too. It's what I carry .
  11. Thanks for the information guys. I want to start with 9mm then move to .45 . I have a friend that is helping me choosing my reloading equipment. He uses the single stage press said that is about the best way to start out with being simple and learning more along the way about how each step works .
  12.   Oh heck yeah , I'm not getting rid of my Gen 3 standard G30 . I don't like the "SF" frames anyways .

    Glock 42

I think that the Ad that shows the specification is fake because the "Finish" Shows that it is Tenifer. I don't think that Tenifer is used and it's not here in the U.S. and it isn't a finish either. It is a metal treatment.
  14. Do any of you guys here shoot your own reloaded 9mm ammo in your Glocks ? Do you use the factory barrel or an aftermarket one to keep it from leading up ?  I am about to get into reloading next month and was seeing if any do it for the Glocks in 9mm ? I have heard to "not shoot reloaded .40 in Glocks" . Not sure if it's about the unsupported chambers or what . Any information is appreciated . Thanks .
  15. What is a good reliable brand of scope for hunting squirrels with a rifle in .22LR ? I want one that is durable and reliable and not much over $100 . I want to put it on my Marlin bolt-action .22 .I had one a time ago but the darn cross-hairs came loose and it was just a mess.  Any help is appreciated .

    Glock 42

I've made my decision . If it's a 9mm I will get one. If it's a .380 I will not. I like the .380 but ammo is too scarce and I havent learned how to reload yet . I have been saving some  money for myself to get a "fun gun" so I'm just sitting and waiting . My S&W Shield is pretty nice and if Glock has one similiar I will be all over that like stink on poop.

    Glock 42

I really want to get it even if it is a .380 but I think the lack of ammo availability will hold me back unless it is a 9mm.
  18.   LOL you are correct on the selling of poop , haha . I have carried  my G30 standard for a long time now and just dont see what the hype is about with the 30S .
  19. Is the Glock 30S worth the price of getting one when compared to a Glock 30 standard model  ? I understand that it is a regular Glock 30 frame with a Glock 36 slide . Is this true ? Is it worth getting rid of a G30 to get the G30S ? To me I just cant seem to understand what would be so great about it if the slide is thinner but the frame is still wide . What are your thoughts ?
  20. Thanks so much for all that information. I love reading what other people do so I can add to what I do now. Very nice write up sir  :pleased:
  21. HAHA Thanks ! And Merry Christmas !
  22. My wife and me , oops I mean Santa , was up till 1:30 am this morning putting togather a 3 story doll house for our 6 yr old daughter. We started at 9 p.m. LAST NIGHT !!!!! It was so aggravating. My wife said  " you fix all our cars and put guns together and take them apart but why cant you put this thing together ? " . Oh lawd Jesus LOL
  23. What I thought about doing one day is childish but it would be funny to watch the look on the  "scalper's" faces : I was going to take 2 Walmart bags with old .22LR brick boxes that are empty and put two empty boxes in each bag . You can see them through the bag pretty well. Then walk back to the gun counter when they are there waiting early in the morning like they alwayys do . Then say "well you guys didnt beat me to the ammo this morning " LOL . They would be steaming mad I bet !
  24. I have ditched American vehicles all the way but if I had to choose I'd go with Ford over Dodge . I have seen too many Dodge Deisels have a lot of electrical fires . I dont know why but I have seen a lot burn to the ground from wiring harness fires. For some reason it seems to be the deisels and not the gas ones .   Have you considered a Toyota Tundra with their big V-8 engine ?
  25. WOW . He was a huge man amoung the gun world . A genius at making such a simple and long lasting reliable gun. His guns are awesome.  It wont be long before Gaston Glock reaches this point. He is 84 and has made about as big impact on pistols as Kalashnikov made on rifles. Both are simple , rugged , reliable  combat firearms.
