  1. From my experience , if you find a used Glock , with the old flat black looking color , then it is Tenifer treated and you are good to go . This is the reason I made a crazy long trip to Chattanooga a few months ago to buy an old Gen 2 G21 .  Tenifer , no finger grooves , no MIM parts,  and works as reliable as an AK47
  2.    I'm just curious. I only have one Glock Gen 3 of the "newer" Gen 3's. It has been good so far and has been exposed to rain and moisture a lot and stays holstered all the time on my duty belt at work. It is 2 years old. But I am hearing more and more rust issues lately than ever with Glocks. I have gotten rid of my newer Gen 3's for older gen 3's and Gen 2's . I know that it is extremely rare to see a Gen 2 or older Gen 3 rust with the true Tenifer . I think Tenifer is no longer used and this is the only thing I can think of that would be causing these hit and miss rust issues . Supposedly the Tenifer process cant be done in the USA due to EPA and or health restrictions. Possibly not overseas either . I may be wrong . But this is what I have come up with .
  3. CZ9MM , how old is your Glock ? Do you remember when it was test fired dated ?
  4. This is true . YOu can remove the inner friction thingy and trim the outer perimeter of the holster to fit properly inside your pocket  or just keep it on your belt . These cheap (as in price not quality)  holsters made by Glock FOR the Glock pistol work awesomely. They are only $14 . Once I got mine , I sold all my other holsters for my Glocks and now use this one for them all.
  5. Yes sir ! Just exactly a month away from muzzleloader season ! Thats when I get mine . I sure cant wait . If it's brown then its coming down !
  6. I use tomato sauce , cummin , tomatoes .deer meat , garlic , salt, black pepper, taco seasoning , Rotel tomatoes , tomatoes , vadailia onions , and a little more stuff .
  7. Thanks guy/gals . I only get 2 deer at the most during hunting season so I have to ration my meat , I have a few pounds left so this seems about right to make a batch of good ole deer chilli.
  8. I have been rationing my deer meat out for the last year and I have some left over so it's time to use it up. I am making some deer chilli and just thought I'd post it for you other "male cooks" , haha . My part time hobby is cooking and I have cooked all my life since age 10 . When I get the kids out of the house my hobby will be reloading cartridges ! Yee Haw!!!!! But anyways here it is . I make it from scratch and nothing is pre-made . Deer meat is so good since it is not grain fed nor hormone filled . 9. I have been in Tennessee my whole life and all I know and have delt with were people and my Gandma hanging peppers from a string that has been ran though the peppers and the hung up on a hook from the ceiling in our house. We always let them dry all out until they were plastic feeling . Then we used them or grinded them .
  10. The Glock has way fewer parts and is a lot easier to fix with a simple tool or ink pen . The Glock has parts that can be found in a lot more places , I mean a lot more places than a Sig. The Glock is cheaper and the Glock has an awesome record of reliability . Also the Glock will function when you need it , trust me , I know . And the warranty department at Glock is a lot better than Sig's from what I am hearing lately . Dont get me wrong , I want a Sig 220 but if I want my life to depend on it then I want a Glock 21 instead of a Sig 220.
  11. Yes , this . The Glock is like a Honda because it will function and run and run .
  12. Yes thats the one. I think it's been about 17 yrs since I been there too. Looked like a junk shack outside but inside he had all sorts of neat things. I always found old water proof tarps , heavy duty bags and a neat rifle or too there .
  13. Does anyone here know if this place is still in business ? I know the owner got robbed and hurt pretty bad  a year ago but I havent heard if he still runs it . He had lots of old military surplus , old guns and new guns . Really neat to walk around inside and look at stuff. I always would leave there with a least one thing . Havent been there in quite a while . Just seeing if you guys/gals know if its still open .
  14. Before we got issue them at my work , I had not held one nor shot one . We got Bushmasters with the 16 inch barrels. They have all worked great for us at work. SO much that I bought my own Bushmaster.  Easy to take apart and all.
  15. Like I said I am not trying to be anal but it is crazy, I think,  when a gun manufacturer cant even get things correct .
  16. No it is just laying next to the Marlin .
  17. I have two old levers from the original Marlin Company  . One from 1953 and one from 1963 . They work like a smooth sewing machine .
  18. I agree . Marlin really has went down hill since Remington took over . I was about to buy a short barreled 30-30 but all of the rifles I saw in this model has misaligned tube magzines and crooked sights. So bad that it was really obvious ! Man this sucks !
  19. Holy Moses !!!! Glad you are ok !
  20. My brother and me did a small "Cannonball Run" through Tennessee in the mid 90's LOL
  21. I am a little picky when it comes to using certain terms like CLIP and MAGAZINE but when a gun manufacturer gets it wrong it is pretty bad I think . Doesn't the item in the picture look like a magazine ? I am pretty sure it is. I know that Remington took over Marlin and since then quality control has went down hill but damn ! 22. The only way an officer could know if someone has a HCP by tag only , and this is a slim chance,  is that he takes the registered name that comes back to the car's plate and asks NCIC to check for a Tn DL by name only and then there is always a crap load of "john Smiths " that will come back . But then the only way to separate the registered car owner's name from the bunch that came back is to try and match up the address on the DL queeries that came back to the one on the plate. This is only a SLIM CHANCE and not many officers will do this. Too long to do after you have stopped him and havent even made it up to the car yet. And still there is no guarantee that the registered car owner is the driver . And some car registrations even have a P.O. box address and this will not match up to a TN DL/HCP which have land addresses .
  23.    Even in the "fast lane"  or the "passing " lane the speed limit must be kept and not exceeded .
