  1. I have a manual on the complete disassembly of my Beretta/Stoeger Cougar in .45ACP which is my avatar picture. There is way more parts to it so that will be a while for me:D
  2. No , not one , but SEVERAL ! hahahaha but I figure it was a learning experience and I dont care about a few scratches . It is a carry gun and it had a few already. It sure helped me learn how the internals worked. I knew the basics but now I know ALOT of how the 1911 functions.
  3. I just got through doing a complete disassembly and reassembly of my Springfield 1911 . It wasnt near as bad as I thought it would be. I can do my Glock in a heartbeat but the 1911 isnt all that bad . What I was kinda scared of was the sear and disconnector. But I am pretty amazed. Just thought I'd share my new discovery with you guys. I am now really thinking of starting to do one from scratch from a bare frame and slide
  4. sigmtnman you hit the nail on the head . I looked this up about making a notch and it seems to fix this tight fit . Thanks ! My slide stop pin seems to be kinda flat in that area and that is why I cant just slide it upwards and inwards at the same time.
  5. Ok , I just looked it up in my manual , what I am talking about that is getting in the way is the "thumb-safety/slide-stop spring" which is what I have to push inward to get the slide stop in . I have to use another object to push it in but on my other 1911 I used to have , the slide stop just popped right in .
  6. I have a S.A. Mil-Spec 1911 that I bought new back in 2004. I have only shot it a little but now I am planning on carrying it. Anyways , I always seem to have a hard time getting my slide-stop pin back in after field-stripping it. The little spring loaded pin that protrudes near it is what gets me. I always seem to have to use a small screwdriver or a toothpick or something to push that little pin back and then I can push the slide-stop back in all the way. Am I doing this wrong ? I see videos of guys slapping it in there with no tools at all . Any help is appreciated .
  7. Thanks so much ! I am computer illiterate !
  8. I just traded with a GREAT guy on here and I cant figure out how to give him a good rating . Any help is appreciated ! His name is swim615 and he is 100% awesome ! very nice guy ! He was true to his word and was very honest and considerate !
  9. I know it wasnt on your list but since others mentioned it , I do LOVE my CZ P-01 !!!!! It has a nice testing history and has a NATO number on it where it went through sevreral tests and passed. I love mine. Good ole traditional hammer fired gun. And it's the same size of a Glock 19 .
  10. Ruger SP101 . He can shoot .38 in it and .357mags too . HE WILL NEVER OUTGROW THAT THING AND IT WILL LAST HIM HIS LIFETIME
  11. I got my truck sprayed at Line-X in Nashville in the RIvergate area . I think it is the Line-X of Nashville one. They did a great job ! I love Line-X . My brother has the same truck as mine and he got his done there too. Both of our trucks are now 8 yrs old and they are holding up fine . I have hauled all kinds of crap in mine and no problems.
  12. Ihave a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec and it is very reliable and I have had no malfunctions at all . And it is a very good platform for modifications. I removed the ILS and replaced it with a Wilson Combat MSH . It is made in America , not in Brazil like the other S.A. 1911's.
  13. I am so amazed at the ones that carry the Glock 21 . Lucky bastards ! (bastards is meant in a good way , hehe)
  14. The M&P is just as easy to break down as a Glock is . What I dont like (which really doesnt matter to some) is that when "detail stripping" it , you have to push out ROLL-PINS in stead of Glocks regular pins . I just dont like roll-pins because you have to be carefull not to flatten the ends of them out . But I have the M&P and GLock both right now and I am keeping them both for life ! I like them that much. If you like the M&P then get it . It will be great . I would suggest to make sure you get the one without the internal key lock (ILS) and get it without the magazine safety. That way you can shoot it with or without a magazine in it just like a Glock.
  15. That is how I rank them . The Glock 19 is simply the best and just under it is the M&P . I would say the same with the M&P but it hasnt been out quite as long as the M&P . BOTH are a FINE choice !

    M&P 9

Try Tn Gun Country on Ft.Campbell Blvd . It is across and down from Hardee's . They may be able to order one for you . The owner is David Beta . Very nice guy and the whole staff is very good on gun information. One of the guys on this forum , "graycrait" works there and he can help you out . I have gotten David to order stuff for me plenty of times. They give 10% off for active military too . " Graycrait" is a S&W M&P Armorer .
  17. I agree 100% . The CZ SP01 is a monster of a gun and a work of art . I bought mine from JG55 on here and it is one of my favorites. It is heavy but it will make up for the weight in it's accuracy and reliability. I cant say enough good things about the SP01 . You can even carry it "cocked and locked" like a 1911.
  18. CPD have Glock in .40 . I have seen APSU have Glock and Beretta . MCSO have SIg in .40 for the road deputies and some of the Jailers use Glocks . Tn State Troopers are using Glocks . They did have .40 caliber but have now went to the .357Sig caliber.
  19. There was a Walmart shooting here in Clarksville back about 4 yrs ago . Two thugs were shooting at each other in the parking lot. My old High School Coach Willard Ross was in the parking lot selling fireworks under a big fireworks tent with his wife. When the 2 thugs were shooting , one of the bullets got Coach in his neck and killed him . That was really terrible . Carry carry carry if you are able to do so .
  20. Quietguy hit the nail on the head ! If you use the 9rd mags the G30 becomes almost an inch shorter in height and this really helps with reducing the print. The 9rd magazines have a flush floor plate like the Glock 26 and 27 . The "normal" G30 mags have that huge base plate and I hate it .
  21. On the main strip in Pigeon Forge there is a Catfish place called "Huck Finns" . It is good Catfish and fried chicken . My wife and I always "waddle" out of there full .
  22. HOLY MOSES !!! That looks like a satellite that should be in orbit around Earth durring the Cold War Era . Just kidding Craig .
  23. I did a grip chop to my G22 . It now accepts G27 mags. I also sanded down its RTF which was really aggressive. It all took me about 2 hrs to do it. That doesnt include me going to the ER when I jammed the exacto knife through my hand while trimming the grip.
  24. I use the fat and meat of the deer . If the meat that you take to a processor tastes odd ,then he probably had it out to long . I cut mine up ASAP and get it in the fridge or freezer . Most people that say that deer meat has a "wang" is because the meat has been at room temperature too long . If it is about 45 degrees or lower I hang mine for a day gutted on a rope . If it is above that degrees I butcher it right away .
  25. Cool , thanks and I got a pm headed your way !
