  1. I happen to own a Jennings 22 that works fairly well if you stick with CCI Minimags or Federal Bulk pack. Remington bulk pack doesn't work as well. If you're seriously wanting to buy one, I can bring it with me on my next trip to Knoxville. I should be back this way on either the weekend of the 12th or the 19th.
  2. If you can pin down a specific date, I'd try to show up assuming work hasn't sent me out of town on a project that weekend.
  3. My service is still going in and out still. Nobody seems to know what's going on, but it's only Verizon. A friend has AT&T and another has Sprint, and they're not experiencing any problems.
  4. It's not just Chattanooga. It crapped out up here in Tri-Cities at about 1430, and didn't start working again until just now. But it's hit or miss right now. Sometimes I can call, sometimes I can't. But I have been able to receive calls from landlines regardless.
  5. Half price tequila shots, margaritas, and Coronas at my local college bar. Do you need a better reason?
  6. I play EVE Online... One of my ex-girlfriend's described it as "the other woman"/"his dirty mistress" on occasion.
  7. Does the current provider at least have a decent logging system so that they can track down DDoS instigators?
  8. The directions from Map Quest/Google only take you through Church Hill because their computers say it's a mind boggling two minutes faster compared to getting off at Exit 1 and taking W Stone Dr across the river.
  9. I gotta agree with Nate, the ratings system is the only part of vbClassified that I really like. The rest of it can go away for all I care. I wish I could propose an alternative to vbClassified for a ratings system, but nothing comes to mind.
  10. 5.5 hour drive from where I live, but that hasn't stopped me from showing up to at least drool over Joe's wall of toys.
  11. Well, I don't believe the HK53 damages brass. But a PTR absolutely mangles brass. Kind of annoying, but still a fun gun to shoot. If ammo prices weren't so schizophrenic right now, it'd be a different story I think.
  12. Well, my Squad Carbine version has a 16" barrel instead of the MSG91's 18", but I got 4" groups all day long with Radway Green 147gr. Towards the end of the day I cleaned the gun and got some Black Hills 168gr out to try with it. That got me a couple of nice 1.75" groups at 200 yards, but I was tired after an entire day on the range and ~1000 rounds of Radway through the gun. I'm still figuring out what mine likes best for ammo... PTR's really mess up your brass on ejection, so mine may be relegated to shooting surplus ammo at zombies instead of something more challenging.
  13. PTR's MSG 91 is probably the closest thing to an MSG 90 that you'll find here in the states, not counting conversions from HK53's and the like. Just requires a few after market parts to get the look a little closer to the HK version. MSRP is like $2k on it, before you go hunting for a PSG style grip and optic of choice. Of course, this is also assuming you can actually get your hands on an MSG91, I have yet to see one in person, and none of the dealers I've talked to have either. Last weekend when I was down in Winchester, Hero Gear had a nice HK53 conversion in the case. Looks close enough to a PSG-1 to make all but the most discerning HK Kool-Aid drinker happy.
  14. Unfortunately, almost doesn't work so well with stupidity.
  15. Of course you won't get mugged while you're out on a date! All thugs and muggers, even in the worst of the DC ghetto are a gentleman at heart and would never ruin a couple's romantic evening with an act of violence. I know that's true because Sarah Brady gave me some Kool-Aid and suddenly everything made sense. In all seriousness, I just wear nicer clothes for such events. No sense scaring her off if she's an anti-gun type before I have a chance to convert her to the ways of freedom, inalienable rights, and the joy of superior firepower.
  16. If it's on top of the pile in the drawer, or the first thing I grab out of the closet, I wear it wherever. Work, class, the dentist, doesn't really matter. Well, I don't wear when I'm going out on a date, but different rules apply there unless I'm taking her to the range. I guess that counts as a time I avoid wearing them?
  17. Looks like I'll be in town that weekend, so I'll probably try and make it to the shoot with my PTR for the service rifle category.
  18. Currently, I'm planning to drive down from Johnson City on Saturday morning and I have three empty seats available in my car if someone wants to carpool. I also have to drive through Knoxville and most of Chattanooga to get there if anyone from either town wants to carpool as well.
  19. It's a limited edition Spike's Tactical stripped lower. As far as I know, they're still available for purchase. I've blanked out the last two digits of the serial number, but Pirate 00XX is not a bad thing to have for a serial number. Otherwise, for custom engravings, Orion Arms is another option. Spike's has a number of other engraving options for their lowers that are nice. Direct Link to Spike's website listing for the Pirate lower.
  20. I can't resist asking, but does she have an unmarried and unattached younger sister whose mind runs along a similar path where gun stores are concerned?
  21. Hmmf, they show up fine for me... Guess I'll have to stick them on photobucket. Try it now.
  22. Oh so shiny... If only I could actually install the Plunder switch. Thanks to Brian & Tom at Gun Depot for handling the transfer. (=
