  1. Hero gear has struggled in my opinion since Jeff left and the store sold again. They were trying hard but I think they lost all the momentum they had going from the hero 1911.
  2. I loved my .40. Recoil was unbelievably "light" Too bad some one stole it from my house a couple of yrs ago....
  3. My scopes were gifts. :)
  4. Leopold Vx-3 on the 06 and a vx-1 on the 30-30. Optics do make a big difference.
  5. That is a sharp looking rifle! But I like the look and feel of wood stocks better.
  6. Thanks batman. That reakly helped.
  7. I like the .338 but over kill would be an understatement!! I might just stay with 30-06. I have more experience with that round over .308. Thanks everone for the input. Now I just need to figure out which rifle....
  8. I got big balls I got big balls. (Ac/dc) I have an ar already. How would .270 do on larger game at 300 + though?
  9. The 06 is my grandfathers old gun. It is a semi auto and I am gonna pretty much retire it. Thats why I am open to a caliber change. I have never tried the 06 out past 300. Just dont know how it will handle.
  10. As I already have a 30-06, what are the differances between it and .308? Balistics wise, are they that different? I will be getting a bolt action wood stock gun.
  11. 90% of the shooting will be critter related. I already have an older 30-06. I just do not know how that round will do that far out. I am hoping not to have to reach out that far but would like to know that the gun is capable to do that with enough force to drop an elk. I am still in the early stages of this decision so I am not sold on the specific caliber yet. Just going off of hear say.
  12. I am thinking about a new rifle. I am leaning toward a .300 win mag. A friend is telling me to get the wsm version. My question is which one is better balistics wise? 600 yrds should be the longest shot needed...Lol, I hope.
  13. This reminds me to stop by bass pro tomorrow and pick up a new target!!!!! Thank u for the reminder! ;)
  14. Mike has hit the nail on the head. Now, back to my knob creek for a little reflection on the discussion at hand!
  15. Dickel barrel select is good.. I can not stomach any kind of jack. I personally prefer knob creek. Speaking of that I am really close to them right now. :)
  16. Springfield armory emp in 9mm would be my bet. If you can find one.
  17. I miss the dickens out of the .40 emp I had. Ive been dieing to get another one.
  18. My first handgun was a full size PX4, before someone stole it from my house. Loved it and miss it. I was already thinking about a new shotgun and if they are made in the TN factory that would just about seal it for me.
  19. Hell of sum gearing. The fact that that is hard pack bottom does not help any.........
  20. Got vodka, Whisky. (Knob creek) milk beer eggs freezer full! Who wanna watch tha idiots!!!! Seriously though if u work outside, "bundle up tha goods and watch tha digits"
