    Harris Bipod

I have had both types...in the end I have sold the non-swivel types to replace them with pods that swivel.
  2. +1 ditch the Houge stock down the road and get one that will not flex (e.g. McMillan, Manners,HS, B&C)

    700 DM Bottom Metal

I have two of the HS DBM kits.. they work as they should and required zero inletting of the stock. If you plan on keeping the HS stock I'd go HS DBM.
  4. B&C makes a fine stock. It will serve you well
  5. I dont think that you saved anyone any grief from not going to court any earlier... Well, except yourself. The wait may have only saved you: time, trouble, and court cost. No need for an atty on your byddys bite. That will be a simple workers' compensation case. He will have to be off work due to the bite more than 7 days (8 days) to earn indemnity payments from his employers' WC carrier. His medical will be/ should bepaid. Outside of that he would need to take the homeowner to court for anything else. His chances of winning in court are better... if he can prove that the bite cause lost time and permanent scarring.
  6. Some and the rest of us get to pay them for their whiplash...

  8. What is wrong with HS Precision stocks?
  9. I have several 700's all in .308 I have the LTR (20inch)the SPS tact(20inch), the SPS Varmint (26inch), a PSS (24inch) (Police Sniper System) and one that is a 700 M40A1 spec clone (Custom) cliff note version: get the SPS Varmint, cut the barrel if you want, and get a used HS or McMillan stock = shoot MOA or better The long version For the money the SPS varmint is hard to beat. Yes, the stock is crap but you and find a used Mcmillan or HS stock and fix that problem. Out of the box they will all shoot great IMO. The LTR is one of my favs becuase of the fluted barrel. Not only does it save weight but it comes with a HS lightweight tactical stock. The vented barrel also seems to flex less and makes the rifle feel like there is as much recoil. The LRT does cost more up front so it may not be worth it to you. If you are looking for a rifle to modify a bit and dont mind a barrel longer than 20-inches get the SPS Varmint and mod it is you want. Replace the stock and have the barrel cut where you ant it and it should be a sub MOA gun. If you want good rifle out of the box and dont want to do anything to it... look at the 700P, LTR in the Remington,s and dont count out the Savage rifles. Savage has some nice out of the boxe rifles as well IMO. Best of luck
  10. I did the bedding a couple of weeks ago. I was pleased for my first attempt. I may put a different bipod on it so I have not painted the pod yet. First trip to the range today. Should be a nice shooter when I get the load worked out. 100 yards after sighting in
