  5. Lucky Congrats...
  6. Private or having your own land (range) is for sure the way to go Any rules at the private range? We can send Jenny down there if necessary LOL
  7. YET another "rule".. It has to be on one target and it has to be a 3-shot group. Not sure why that is but it is their "rule". I shot three times... went and got the target and they put my name on the board. Your dads' shots were better than mine I bet. M1A You being a Mod here ... you might understand that there are those that come to TGO that cannot for some reason follow or understand all the "rules" here. They learn to follow them, leave, or get the boot, Same as the SR range.
  8. It is 200 but you do have to have your name on the list that is on the clipboard that hangs on the the wall. It is not hard to qualify. Three shots within the black on a 3-4" black area target. You only have to qualify once then you gan ride in the golf cart all you want LOL
  9. Ditto do you have to qualify to shoot the 400 yard range?
  10. lurking is good.. enjoy your stay
  11. sounds like the way that I do it
  12. I shoot there almost every weekend or so. I shot on the rifle and pistol range this past Saturday. I have never had any issues. I pick up my own brass and any other brass that I want that the owner does not want. Sometimes the RSO's even offer brass to me if they know that it is something that I may want. On the pistol range you can only have one target up.. not a big deal to me. However, on the rifle range you can put up as many targets on one stand that you want. I have never seen the 50-yard only range open...not sure why. They may ask what caliber you shoot on the rifle range because two of the lanes are 50 & 100 only and some folks may want to shoot 25. Again not sure why they ask but I just tell them and move on. Sometimes I have to say .22, .30-06, & .308 +. It does slow things down when the have to check every firearm going into the range. However, I have seen them pop a round out of a firearm that the owner thought to be empty. Is jenny the one that wears sandals even when it is cold outside? If so she is fine by me and I have not had a run-in with her yet. If they were to "yell" at me about something I would be sure not to do it again and keep them happy. I have seen some of the stress that they put up with. Anyone can shoot there and I like to know that they are watching folks colsely. I have seen some real "interesting" folks there that need a little "help" shooting safley. Sorry to hear that you had a poor experience spoonman3

  14. I have been guilty of using the "very over priced" button a time or two. Some of those folks are crazy.

  18. I have one on order for my S&W 60-7 Jframe. I hope to receive it soon. Congrats on your new holster..a wise 1st choice IMO.
  19. Nope I checked. I have a few M1 garands and always check just in case some GI packed his stock full of 100 dollar bills. Thanks I talked myself into this one and the more I look at it the more I like it. It is a sweet shooter too. I thought that it would recoil much worse than it did. Good luck on you M1917 hunt
  20. I wanted to check the sighting on the PBR that I have in for sale since it had a loose scope mount the last time I had it out. In addition, I picked up a 1918 M1917 Eddystone rifle a while ago and was itching to take it for a spin too... The M1917 will be 92 years old this year and is a hoot to shoot. I will have to get use to it as there is not a sight setting for 100 yards (200-1600). The sights do not have windage adjustment either.. .OLD SCHOOL for sure. All the shots hit paper at 100 yards.. just not where I wanted them to exactly LOL I did get the PBR .308 back to "ok" too. It has a four round mag and here is the 4 round group. It was not far off at all. Without the cold bore shot the 3 shot would have been a .50 group. With the 4th it is a .78.
  21. I will ask at work tomorrow.
  22. Yeah, we are talk'n about Jim Pooper
  23. LOL damn that is almost word for word what his reply to me was when I emailed him about his healthcare vote. "I was a professor insurance law at Vanderbilt and know more than ...blah blah blah"
