TGI Friday's in Memphis on Winchester "no guns allowed"
Volzfan replied to ki4otd's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I asked the TGI Friday's manager at the Hickory Harlem location last night and he said that it would be a corporate decision and not local managers. As of last night he was not aware of any decision being made yet but that he was all for HCP holders being able to bring them in and that it didn't concern him at all. We had about a 10 min conversation. He was more worried about having to make the nutritional info available to customers that he was about guns being brought in! -

I bought one for getting me from place to place with my last job. I love it but it's not 100%. I was going to my cousins house who lives off of Almaville Rd. As I was going out Almaville it told me to turn right so I figured that it may be a shortcut that I was not aware of so I turned. It wound up bringing me back to Almaville Rd about 2 miles down the road. ???? I don't know why it would have done that but I don't completely trust it. It would have taken me to the destination eventually but wasted some gas and time.

You said that is was small. There are chipmunks in the area. Does it have stripes down the back?

Nashville bar owners plan to ban guns
Volzfan replied to threeshot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If an owner of a bar or restaurant legally posts his place of business I was wondering would that also prohibit them from keeping a gun there and being armed themselves? -
That's great! I wish that Charmin would put out a commemorative roll!!!

Looks like a great time! Can anyone put any names with faces for those of us who have not been able to make it to one of these yet? -

How Many "Concealed" Guns Did You See Before...
Volzfan replied to DavidCBaker's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I've never seen one before or after I started carrying. Those first weeks of carrying after I got my permit I was very aware of anyone that might notice. Not that it mattered since I was legally carrying but I guess I was just wanting to be sure that I was doing a good job of CC'ing. I also was looking to see if I spotted anyone else carrying. I read on a forum somewhere, it may have been here, that a guy said that if anyone asked him about the bulge on his belt he would answer that it was a colostomy bag and would ask if they wanted to see it! I can't swear that was true but I always thought that if anyone ever asked that I would use that answer. -
As an HCP holder he should refuse to make any legal signs for anyone! Let's see if he sells out his beliefs for the almighty $$$.

Not all of them are closed yet. I did notice the Rivergate location was closed and the Hickory Harlem location has been closed for about a year now. Harding Place is open and I believe the Thompson Lane location is open.

Oops misread one so I deleted it Probably a different Franchisee that can set their own policies like this. This sounds like a good plan up until July 14th.

An open letter to the folks on this board....
Volzfan replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree but I would also be surprised if that would happen within the next few years. They don't seem to want to do that type thing every year.I am ok with surprises so if it does happen I'll be a happy camper! -
If I could go back and do it again i would join a branch of the service. I grew up in the Viet Nam era and it had ended before I left HS. They stopped mandatory registration for the draft 1 month before I was old enough to register. I have never felt that anyone looked at me as less of a man because I didn't serve but at this time in my life I feel a sense of shame that I didn't serve at least for one term. I am not saying this to try to put ant pressure on you to serve but only telling you how I feel now. Good luck with whatever you do!

I was at the spring Bristol race and it was announced to be a complete sellout but there were the normal amount of seats open that there usually are. As long as there are not tickets in the box office it's a sellout. It has been years since the tickets on the street were scarce. there are always tickets available on the street. I've heard that tracks have started a new strategy. Instead of the sections that are all blue or all red seats they are starting to paint them mulitcolored so that it looks like fans in their colored T-shirts and it won't show up as bad on TV as it does when all of the seats are the same color.
