  1. If by dumping you mean driving an old tobacco stake thru it so they have to work to get it then that's what I do too!
  2. I use a primos mouth call. It's called the little sky-ote. Small blue open reed call that is very flexible and can make tons of different distress sounds depending how you work it. Bottom line any call that you can make a horrible, murder like sound with seems to work if the dogs are in earshot...also, take a triple reed turkey mouth call and practice making it sound like a hurt puppy
  3. I can see some clown now wearing it out on opening day of gun season on a WMA. Shortly followed by the headline "hunter shot multiple times while wearing deer costume" on wsmv
  4. Can't beat the corded one. I've never had much luck with the battery powered ones. They never seemed to hold a charge long enough to be practical for me
  5. with the way the countries economy is going, he could use paper money. It'll be worthless soon anyway  :wall:
  6. if you can find an adjustable beam it will help. My Protac has a more of a flood pattern. its solid at sub 100 yards but washes out after that. Dont get me wrong, its stupidly bright, but even thru a scope i have trouble seeing beyond 100yrds
  7. It was crazy because I was still on the tractor and riding out when they stepped out into the new field. They wer running and bouncing around. Was really cool cause even though I know they saw/heard me they just played. One of those times where I wouldn't have shot even if I had a rifle
  8. Some trails in the smokies had standard copy paper laminated saying closed with some ribbon that somehow was torn down so as not to impede the enjoyment of land that We the People supposedly own
  9. I snuck out to the new lease today and hung a stand for muzzle loader season. I bush hogged a 40x100 yard opening out of 7 ft tall briars. There were 3 does in it as I left today. Gonna be good I hope!
  10. I'm not sure, but feel like I'm seeing some JB WELD on there also
  11. My handloads look exactly the same and I "classified" them as jacketed hollow points in case the man asks...
  12. Everything lol
  13. I've been kicking around the idea of trying this out. Off to the idpa site to see what all is needed. The stages look fun for sure!
  14. Now I know I can hide my gun in the freezer as long as I put it in a Baggie lol
  15. Looks like a coyote killing machine now! Although I don't think I want to be sitting beside you with that brake you have on!!! Might knock the call outta my hand!
  16. it will affect the hunters like us long term in 2 ways. Our fees we paid in this year that they were using for whatever they chose to, if refunded, will cause a dramatic increase in the price of license fees over the next few years. I'm not talking the $1-$5 range. I'm betting a $10-20 increase. I see them having no issue charging $150 for the sportsmans license before long. Looks like I'll be saving for my lifetime license. Luckily I bought my sons his when he was 2! Second way is all the quota hunts will either go up in price, or they will do away with them due to "funding". Not sure how much it takes to run a quota hunt, since I have been on lots and not seen any increased amenities or breakfast buffets anywhere I've hunted.
  17. Take the drift wood and either drill or cut small slots in it? Folders would be opened and inserted into drift and obviously fixed would just slide in. Kinda resemble taking a knife and sticking it into the piece of wood...
  18. Check your local craigslist. I'd bet someone will take it off your hands. More than likely they will want it free, but you prob can negotiate and come out with a little cash?
  19. Ditto! They have no shortage now, and are breaking habits. Gonna be tough till rut
  20. Gun show in Smyrna some years ago the person checking guns at the door somehow let one rip, luckily right into the floor. People hit the ground all over the place
  21. I watched a drunk guy load a very new Ranger into the back of a full size Bronco. He yelled out "when in doubt, pin it!" Prior to embedding it into the bronco.
  22. Enjoy the peace and quiet! Watch out for drones patrolling for trespassers though
  23. I'm firmly convinced that the mornings I don't hunt that deer are out playing, fornicating, and having all sorts of fun under my stands. The only way to prove myself wrong is to go hunt :-)
